Batch Shortcut Edit allows you to re-point Windows shortcuts (.lnk files) in batches. You can change the drive letter of shortcuts or replace part of the target path with something else.In addition you can set the shortcut comments to a particular value or chage the window style used when opening the target application.
I needed to move files, but one user on the network had over 700 shortcuts. This little program did the job of changing the path for all of them. It was easy to use and got the job done.
Cons
Glad I found the program here. If you do an internet search, there is information on writing scripts. Since my last programming class was BASIC, it would have been a stretch for me to do it. This program saved me a headache. So the only fault I have is, it's hard to find, if you don't know where to look.
Summary
This is the perfect program for a batch change of the file paths for shortcuts in a small or medium size network.
Very Useful

Pros
Quickly and easily change shortcuts. I had a large amount of shortcuts in our company that I had to manually change. This made life easier by running this batch on each computer instead of changing each folder shortcut by hand.
Cons
The main con I have is that the capitalization of letters would throw off the batch, when that shouldn't affect it. This is a minor thing since I can just run it with caps and without caps.
Summary
Overall it is a well made app and I suggest it for any one who needs it for their own computer needs.
Very simple GUI alternative to script-heavy answers.

Pros
This program allows you to, in seconds, modify any number of shortcuts to change their basic properties. Lightweight.
Cons
As reviewed otherwise, does not appear to affect the "start in" field when changing the path text.
Summary
Although useless for changing actual folder names due to the above issue, one can easily edit drives, windows styles, and most importantly to myself, set comments on a per directory basis with an ease nothing else has approached.
Thus for my purposes, Shortcut Batch Edit is excellent -- but it would gain more appeal if it did enable more comprehensive editing like .ico manipulation, as well as addressed the odd issue with the start in field above.
Close.. but useless

Pros
Works perfectly at changing destination
Cons
Does not in any way touch "Start in" thereby making it useless!
