Not Sure About This Program
ambienttales- Pros
- Says 3GB Free, Home Page of Company states same
- Cons
- After reading Cnet info and reviews and also Company's Home page, I downloaded the installer from Cnet. then opened .dmg got a .pkg then program opened , I selected the (free) 3GB option and it was off to the races, it started backing up (randomly) and I immediatly hit stop, it did back up 5 files of which oddly I could also download from the control panel, I cancelled my account and emailed company of what I had experienced and that either I misunderstood the product or it was not what I thought it was (I thought it was a drop box like app.
- Summary
- While this is only my opinion, I do not understand why it just took off backing up random desk top files (and ? where to) I realize there is a toolbar icon but in these days of Mac issues (*and I am in no way accusing this program of being unsafe etc) I should have read closer possibly or there is a ? flaw (I was using OSX 10.6.8 , What is Free is not always whats best, but Program has potential (I will stick with external Hard drive and for redundant files a DVD or Dual Layer DVD or CD-R , I mean no ill will, jut my opinion
Backup,Sleep Well
dinahjj- Pros
- There are no hardware failures to worry about such as losing your important data to a hard drive or peripheral storage device failure. My files are securely backed up on a remote server where i can access them around the clock.
- Cons
- The computer tends to become so slow when am backing up files. Although this all depends on the type of service am using, the speed of Internet connection, and other factors that may cause my computer system to slow down.
- Summary
- There are so many options and online backup services available on the Internet. Some are more popular than others so i have been doing my home work and found Safecopy backup trustworthy. They are a very cost effective way to backup important files and data and I have found it a very good way of reducing the stress of losing my important files in the process because they are so secure.
Safecopy backup is one of my favorite online storage. .
Edither- Pros
- Sharing files is easy and the upload speed is superb not time consuming. $50 for 200GB space / yr backs up multiple PCs on a single account. Gives a huge 3GB free account for life.
- Cons
- It does not support Linux Version yet.
- Summary
- The product is super good. Actually, it's one of my favorite. Better than the unstated leading competitors via customer care. I like the set up process, it's easy and you don't have to hassle with it. The upload speed is incredibly superb, provides real time upload. The other thing is, i have always securely shared a bunch of files with friends. It takes 2 mins or a little more seconds to access my files. Unlike Mozy and Carbonite, Safecopy offers a whopping 3GB free account and maintains deleted/old file versions for ever. It is affordable, $50 for 200GB a year covers all my computers on one account. It is worth, much more than the data I ought to backup within that period. They have saved me a ton of money. The cons, about this product is that they don't support Linux Version yet. It would have been nice too. ha! I can't live without backing up my files at Safecopy. Probably, it's the most suitable online backup you can rely on if you are looking for one. Safecopy rocks!!
Great solution for my home with two macs and one win.
doraAD- Pros
- I can put all my computers in a single account. Simple install and doesn't slow things down.
- Cons
- interface could be improved
- Summary
- Great online backup solution for a household. Much better than having to maintain/buy individual accounts for each computer.
Great service if you have multiple computers

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I have been super impressed with the service. I especially like how I can share a single account with our two MacBooks and one Dell mini. With other online backup services you have to pay for each computer but with SafeCopy I bought the 300GB plan for $75 per year and I can add all the computers to it. Killer deal. They also have a free 3GB account if you want to kick the tires.
