USB drives are simple to carry, but easy to misplace and that can be risky with sensitive information. Rohos Mini Drive is a freeware app that safeguards personal documents by creating a password-protected partition on your flash drive. The download actually installs two programs. One, Rohos Mini Drive, is the partition manager that self-installs as a portable app on the drive when you create the partition. The second, Rohos Disk Browser, is a portable file manager, which can be useful when the encrypted partition can't be read by the host computer.

Operating Rohos Mini Drive is fairly straightforward. Plug in your portable drive and start the program. You should see three choices: Set up USB flash drive, Change password, and Options. Setting up the drive requires choosing a password--that's it. Depending on the size of the drive, creating the partition should happen reasonably quickly. Once the partition has been created, you can change the disk size and partition drive letter. The Rohos Disk Browser displays and manipulate items in the protected partition. Single-click functions include open, saving, deleting, and displaying file properties. Searching and opening the partition is also easily selected from a short pull-down menu.

Rohos Mini Drive includes features to open the protected drive on systems where the user doesn't have administrator rights. That makes this app easy to use anywhere from public library labs to your best friend's system. We can easily recommend this app for all experienced users needing to transport personal files.

Erroneous saving system

I have no Pros for this Roho's product

Images viewed on USB Drive with Roho's are then added to desk top.
Summary
After viewing sensitive images on my USB with the new so called secured Roho's program I found the images I just viewed are now in full view on my desk top. This is a nightmare! I had to delete all 50 images one by one then go to my C: hard drive and delete them there. The saving section of Roho's is opened to anyone if recently view on the secured section of a USB drive there now on the desk top. I would like to know how is this happening? This is not safe!!!!!!!!!!!

Read some neg reviews, just love this software. Encrypted 15 USB sticks 3 WD removable drives. With no issues. Users on my PC have no idea I have a 50Gb encrypted partition. Happy to be register it.

It can be confusing Encrypting many drives, passwords.

Requires administration permissions (not the programs fault, that's Microsoft's fault). Thus it won't work with work limited accounts unless you get IT to install the program.
Summary
There is a big difference between free and paid versions, the free one is limited to only a 2gb partition and doesn't have the auto map feature. If you only need 2gb of secure data and don't mind manually mapping the drive each time, stick with the free version.

I am purchased upgrade to pro for Rohos mini drive by credit card , I am not happy to buy it and I want refund and I want my money back, first off all, anything change when I enter my upgrade to pro serial, I couldnt see any differences between upgrade to pro or free mini rohos, Program gives always error: " use data saving", what did I buy, what does it mean upgrade to pro, free is the same, there is not change anything when I enter my serial and I have not receive email after I paid money by credit card

A good software that will encrypt a piece of a drive for useful storage, this works well for personal documents and other things, very user friendly and easy to figure out.

Cons
Puts a 2Gb partition on your thumb drive and has no instructions on how to add to the partition or how to delete the partition, so now I have a thumb drive with 2Gb of unusable space. Also, would not recognize my password.
Summary
This program is flat out AWFUL and CNET editors should be ashamed of themselves for giving this such a positive review. They lost almost all credibility with me today. This is program pitiful.

It does not work, except from the fact that it can encrypt a section, password protect it and then deny ANY access to it with the previous created password. It also denies formatting, so the disk therefore is wrecked.
