• Free Fast Search Replace text strings multiple files

  Pros

  This little program is fast and efficient and easy to use. I used it to remove malicious javascript that had been inserted into some of my webpages. I was so pleased with this software that I sent a donation to its creator.

  Cons

  I have to think of something for the "Cons" part of the review but I can't.

  The file is not properly closed with a line feed character at the end of the last line so when you run them through something that puts two files together you end up with: <p>"last line in file 1First line in file 2" as opposed to: <p>"Last line in file 1" <p>"First Line in File 2" <p>in your code. This is a common programming error that I have made myself when I started writing programs.

  They're right, this program is nice! It's easy to use and works like it should. Simple features and not too in-your-face. I like it and will continue to use it!

  The user interface could use some updating to make it movable and sizable.

  Pros

  Searches through ALL files, not like the other crappy tools, that let me search strings only in text files... Textfile-search is what WindowsXP does anyway !

  Cons

  UI is not resizable not movable ! Very bad ! Problem while Adding, modifying selectable Filetypes in Options-dialog... deletes an entry while adding and stuff... Hope, there will be new versions

  Pros

  It was able to open a bunch of files that were in the same directory and replace text strings. It did that well.

  Cons

  It could search for files in multiple directories but would not let you put them in the replacement window. Not good for replacing text in multiple directories at once. Also the interface is clunky.
