Change Attributes handles batch-modification of file attributes on the fly, but this freeware isn't a stand-alone program. The basic interface contains only a few tick boxes and dropdown buttons, and proves easy to understand despite the missing Help file. It's a simple process to change the date and time the file was created, modified, and last accessed. You also can set the file attributes to archive, read-only, hidden, and system. In our tests, Change Attributes performed fast, and we were impressed with the capability to change the attributes of folders as well. However, Change Attributes only works as an add-on for Useful File Utilities. If you already have the main program, Change Attributes is an easy-to-use and no-cost way to modify file and folder attributes.

What’s new in version 1.5

Possibility to change any of the three dates into each other was added;Possibility to save additional parameters in INI file was added.

[Refers to ReplSoft homepage] Also you can directly download it if you press to [that way in original] the following button." Could very well download malware, so not safe.

It's downright insulting to filter by free licenses, then be mislead into thinking this program is freeware. As the other review points out, which the CNet review only alludes to, it requires the "main" $30 program to work. <p> <p>"No limitations" -- yeah, right. It's not worth paying $30 to batch-rename a few files. What a waste of time and disk space. I want my electrons back.
