This application removes unneeded and faulty Registry entries, although it covers a limited scope of error types. Registry Wizard's basic, uncomplicated interface can be understood at first glance. The program's error scan identifies critical missing system services and invalid file extensions along with noncritical broken references, invalid fonts, and orphaned help files. A detailed summary of number of items scanned, errors found, and time elapsed are displayed on the main window. Registry Wizard did well in our tests, completely deleting scanned errors. It automatically creates a backup of deleted Registry items that can be restored if necessary. In our tests, this utility identified for deletion some important Registry entries, so as with every Registry cleaner user awareness is important. Novice to intermediate users should seek out a safer Registry cleaner, while advanced users may find this freeware suitable for removing very basic Registry errors.

I was initially impressed by this program because the registry scan was very fast. However that quickly turned to concern when it claimed to have found 676 problems/errors in my registry. <p> <p>I already use a few different registry cleaners plus I don't install a lot of software so my registry is usually quite clean. I wasn't expecting to see more than a few dozen keys needing some fine tuning. <p> <p>As I looked through the list of "errors" to be fixed I realized that if I actually used this program to repair these "errors" my machine would be most likely become unusable. Sure, the power button might still work but I would lose my DVD drive, my internet connection, the ability to ever uninstall ANYTHING... the list goes on. <p> <p>The program also claims to be able to backup and restore the registry but the buttons on that tab are labeled "delete" and "restore". I was afraid to try either one of them. <p> <p>I wish anyone the best if they want to risk trying this program out, you're braver than I am.
