Used ProgramLaunch for Windows?
Editors’ Review
For users who do not enjoy using Windows' Start Menu, ProgramLaunch offers an alternative. While this may be a good idea for many, this program is not the efficient rescuer its manufacturers believe it to be.
This free download displays itself as a small tray you can move anywhere on your desktop. On it, users see a clock, a calendar, a Recycle Bin, and a power meter. From this general starting point, there is absolutely no direction provided for the program. Users must blindly right and left click the icons and the empty space in hopes of moving forward. Understandably, this is very frustrating and may not seem like a step up from the Start Menu.
Users with a great deal of patience may eventually learn that any program they want to access through ProgramLaunch must be individually added, unlike the more automatic approach of the Start Menu. With more blind clicking one may learn that a program's path must be searched for and the name and other details manually typed in.
From this point, yes, the programs do run from ProgramLaunch, but the difficulty of getting there may be a serious turn off. While this method gives users an opportunity to customize, the idea of physically adding every program to ProgramLaunch doesn't look appealing. If you are a user who is only slightly annoyed by Windows' Start Menu, this program won't be worth the effort. However, those willing to put in the time may like the results this freeware program brings to the table.
