This tiny utility packs a punch with numerous helpful monitor and system-related power functions. Power Monitor Off's system tray pull-down menu interface makes it a snap to invoke any of the program's functions. Don't bother looking for a Help file, but it's so easy to use that even novice users will quickly pick up this app.

Power Monitor Off uses menu options, schedule actions and a hot key to shut down the system monitor, the local computer, and remote systems. All options are easy to set with a click or key press. Functions are invoked immediately and with little system interruption. A pull-down menu makes it easy to schedule the app to shut down, restart, or log off the system after a select number of minutes. Oddly, the schedule is limited to a maximum of 60 minutes. An unexpected aspect of this app allows one machine to send commands to other computers on the network. The function is easy to set up, but requires that the app is installed on each computer to be controlled.

Power Monitor Off is simple to install and operate. The program performed flawlessly in testing, and was useful on a daily basis. Though the demo is limited to a 30-use trial, the registered program's low cost makes this app an unexpected value.

Incredibly easy and helpful asset to any laptop owner

Easy to use, the schedule action option is extremely helpful, perfect for extending my laptop battery to almost 5 hrs

Doesn't come with any instructions, but it's so easy to use it's not really necessary.
Summary
I created an account specifically so I could review this product! It's how much I love it! As CNET says it does cost $2, but compared to what it could cost, it's a bargain for what you're getting. As a college student it's important for me to preserve my battery life as long as possible when I'm on campus, and I find that when a prof is lecturing and goes off-topic and I don't have to take notes, I can just press my hotkey and the monitor will turn off so I can save my battery. Also, it's very easy to resume and you have the option of resuming with or without password protection so that's a nice security feature. I also use this at night, as I usually watch or listen to a show before I fall asleep. I just schedule an action so that my laptop turns off in an hour so I don't have to leave my laptop plugged in overnight and still go to class with enough battery to last me through lecture. It's a simple, inexpensive but genius software designed to make life easier Note: I have a two-month old Acer laptop, 15.6" Normally battery life is around 3, 3.5 hrs with normal internet browsing use, but I can get up to 5 just by turning my monitor off periodically (on a full charge with screen brightness on low and power saver power option)

Power Off Monitor Whenever Required & Save Power. To Power On Monitor Just Press some Key or Move Mouse a little. Power Monitor Off Using a Desktop Icon or a System Tray Icon or define a Hot Key (eg Ctrl+K, F12). In case System Tray Icon is not required it can be removed using Settings. Add a Scheduled Action to Shut Down/Log Off/Restart Computer.
