Used PermanentFileDelete.exe for Windows?
Editors’ Review
If you absolutely, positively must be sure a file is removed from your system and can't be recovered, this isn't the program to rely on. In every single test we ran, our testers found that PermanentFileDelete.exe couldn't delete a single file.
The program comes exactly as the name implies--as an executable that doesn't require installation. Just click and run when you want to use it. Which, frankly, probably won't be beyond a couple of test runs. The interface is simple and looks professional. Options are few, and include adding, removing and opening a file. You then can delete or close the application. Click the About button to find simple instructions for use. A built-in browser makes it easy to locate the file(s) you want to delete, but regardless of type, size or location, PermanentFileDelete.exe failed to delete a single file. Instead, an error message appeared stating that the list index was out of bounds.
It's easy to use, portable and looks good. Too bad this freeware program doesn't work. Those in need of file deletion should keep looking.
