• Great software, amazing customer support!

  Pros

  My 3 and 4-year-olds can use the computer to play their favourite online games without me worrying they will damage anything on it. Absolutely brilliant customer support!

  Cons

  Will probably outgrow this before they reach double digits, but for the price ($24.95), I think it's great value.

  Summary

  I loved the idea of Peanut Butter PC, but initially had problems installing it (due to what turned out to be an error on my hard drive). JR from customer support was unbelievably helpful - responding to emails right away, continually working on the problem, even though I hadn't even purchased the software yet! I am delighted with the product, and very impressed with the level of customer support.

• Setup failed with Unhandled Exceptions

  Pros

  Couldn't get the program to execute correctly so I wasn't able to judge any benefits to the software. On the plus side, the install completed successfully. But they probably used a third party product to create the install program

  Cons

  Setup failed w/unhandled exceptions. I didn't give it 1 star b/c it may be a good program, but the setup is a part of it so I had to give it below average. I'd really like to test PB as I have 2 two-year old twins that love playing on our PCs.

  Summary

  Couldn't assess software because of inability to setup software.

• The best kids browser available

  Pros

  Great features to protect kids from the WWW and the computer from the kids. Can import bookmarks or add manually. Can allow access to specific games and programs installed on the computer. Inexpensive one-time license fee, no subscription.

  Cons

  User interface could stand some work to make it smoother. Importing many bookmarks from a collection (2000+) crashes program, it would be better if you could browse to and import a specific bookmark file.

  Summary

  Great price plus great features equals great product buy!

  Pros

  I just am in awe of this software. They not only lock down the obvious things light Ctrl-Alt-Del, but also things like your desktop clean-up wizard. I especially appreciate the multimedia buttons being disabled.

  Cons

  I use Vista and because this program requires admin rights to lock everything down, Vista annoyingly asks for permission before launching the program... Everytime.

  Pros

  Easy set-up. <p>Works as advertised. <p>Has very few words, so kids as young as 2 can use it. <p>Kid friendly browser built right in (very intuitive)(no right clicking... yeah) <p>Most important... Kid's love it!

  Cons

  Requires you to approve admin privileges in Vista, every time you run it. But, I can't knock it, since Vista makes me do this for a lot of programs. Thanks Microsoft!
