• won't open Chrome on the secondary desktops

  Pros

  I disagree with the user who said it would take 7 days of configuring, it seemed pretty straightforward to me, you can choose the hot keys you want for switching desktops and you can also set the hot keys for each individual desktop (I am looking to create two desktops one called Work and another called Home so I used CTRL-SHIFT-H and CTRL-SHIFT-W for each, as well as CTRL-SHIFT-S for switching back and forth). I liked that you can set the number of desktops - since I want work and home, for me 2 is all I need (I think most others follow the Linux standard of 4) so I could set that, presumably saves some memory and it's simply easier.

  Cons

  The hot keys work but not so flawlessly. CTRL-SHIFT-S will always pop up the windows with the desktops so you can choose, the other two sometimes will switch, sometimes won't. The biggest con which led me to remove the application was that chrome could only be open in the main (Desktop 1) desktop. Also Windows' sticky notes would only open there. All the other applications that I tried - Word, etc. seemed to work fine in either Desktop.

  Summary

  Can't use all applications in secondary desktops, at least under Windows 7. Several other minor bugs.

  Does the stuff (after spending hours configuring it!)

  Instead of making you increase productivity... it makes you waste your time configuring the tool.

  Summary

  A typical example of developpers adding settings each time there is a choice to make, instead of deciding! Conclusion: if you are bored and wonder what to do in the next 7 days, you can install the tool and try configuring it.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Aug 15, 2012<p/>Oops... posted on the wrong page. grrrr. nSpaces is a decent software, extremely simple (which I love). But it does not allow moving windows from one space to another, so it's hardly usable

• Simple, efficient with the right element of security

  Pros

  Set your own desktop background, start specific programs on each window, all designed to give you individual workspaces for related tasks - Internet browsing on one, image manipulation in another, games playing in a third and so on. Makes things simple, neat and tidy with no clutter. Gives me the distinct impression that I know what I'm doing. Plus any workspace can be password protected!

  Cons

  I understand they are working on selecting which desktop icons appear on each window. If they sort that, excellent. Also, I'd prefer a left-click over the icon to select which window I want to go to, but that's nit-picking. Otherwise, no complaints.

  Summary

  Nice program, certainly worth a try to play with and see if it really does help help you to become more efficient on your laptop/PC.

  Finaly I can work a little bit like Mac. It is very useful to have two or more different working spaces at a time.

  Cons

  It should have different icons on each desktop in the next version.

  Summary

  Try it if you want more desktops on one computer to improve your productivity.

• Simple, clean, and works

  Pros

  Really easy to use -- almost no setup time. I installed it and started using it right away. Does what it's supposed to and doesn't seem to use a lot of resources.

  Cons

  None for me. Other people might want more bells and whistles, but I like how minimal it is.

  Pros

  Increases productivity - I can now split my desktop windows by the tasks I am working on. Allows me to hide my personal windows when my boss checks up on me.

  Cons

  Nothing I can think of; keep up the good work!
