This simple, free program monitors total RAM usage, although you won't be overly impressed by its overall performance and functionality. First, you can set the refresh rate and press the start button to begin the monitoring process. MZMM's main window displays a bland line graph of used physical memory. You'll also see the amount of RAM in use as a percentage. MZMM can monitor all running processes or just one, but the logging feature works only when monitoring a single process. The RAM analysis is a bit anemic compared to others within the category, and MZMM offers few, if any benefits not already offered by Task Manager. It's free and easy to use, but MZMM is easily outclassed by other similar programs.
What’s new in version 1.1b
Version 1.1b fixes the following bug: previous versions allocated additional process handles (without releasing them) every time they logged the memory usage. This version includes also a small bugfix: in previous versions, the Esc key closed the main window.
Easy, Simple, Clean, Free Software - Just What I Was Looking For!
Grandiose
Pros
I like the simple .txt file output and the ability to track the RAM usage of a single .exe. I also like the uncluttered, simplicity of the program and that it is so tiny, using barely any system resources. In addition, the help file is easy to use.
Cons
I don't like the lack of floating information boxes that, in other programs, explain concisely what each button and option does when you "mouse-over" them, saving you having to look though a help file.
