If you frequently switch between using a mouse and the touch pad on your laptop, or use more input devices in general, this software may come as a blessing. If touch pad gestures aren't quite working for you, Mouse Speed Switcher can help. It lets you control up to 10 mice or track pads in one program.

This program's namesake feature isn't the most exciting add-on it offers. While it can change how fast your mouse reacts to clicks, that feature can be found in your Windows Control Panel. So, unless you're using more input devices and want a different mouse sensitivity for each, you won't find this program worth paying $14.56 for. But Mouse Speed Switcher will nag you with update reminders if you don't. You can still use the program for free if those don't annoy you. Where you can find some value in the program is the ability to save settings for up to 10 mice or touch pads. Windows can be hit or miss actually doing that. Though most people don't use 10, it's completely possible for someone to use three or more input devices.

If you use more that one input device, Mouse Speed Switcher will save you from constantly fighting with your settings. Graphic designers that use input tablets will probably really enjoy a control panel for all of their input devices, too.

Pros
Does what it claims. Lets me automatically switch between mouse sensitivity (speed) and touchpad sensitivity (speed). When I use the touchpad, I configured it so that the sensitivity is automatically at maximum and "wheel" (two finger scroll) is at 20 lines per "click," which gave me settings that felt right for touchpad use. For my mouse (Logitech M325), I configured a lower sensitivity and "wheel" sensitivity of 1 line per click. I clicked the checkboxes to make the application automatically switch between the two sensitivities when each is used. Seems to work great.
Cons
For me there was not 15 day free trial (version 3.4.1). To use it at all, I had to pay $14.50 including sales tax. For me, the functionality is provides is worth the cost, though.
Summary
Good app. Works well on my Windows 10 computer. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that I would've liked to have tried it out before buying, but I crossed my fingers and trusted the reviews on CNET, paid my $14.50 and am happy. It'd be nicer if they fixed the try-before-buy issue that apparently exists with version 3.4.1 and Windows 10.

Pros
Quickly change your mouse speed which can be useful for many thing such as games, graphics drawing, and so on.
Cons
I was able to achieve the exact same thing with AutoHotKey with far more settings and options to run automatically per program. I was also able to bypass the maximum and minimum mouse speed in general.
Summary
While it's okay I'd suggest using Google before you spend money on something you can get completely free on the AHK forums.

starts to nag you to pay, but when you buy the key, is impossible to complete registration. i have win 7 64, maybe thats the issue, but had to uninstall, manually kill all registry keys, reinstall ,then register.

This is a great tool for switching between mouse speeds. I've assigned the shortcut key Ctrl-Shift-M to change my mouse speeds, and it works perfectly. The only problem is that it keeps showing a message asking you to purchase the paid version every time I switch the speed. It takes 10 seconds for the close button to become visible. Besides that, it is perfect.

Does what it says, provides seperate mouse speed control for trackpad and mouse. sometimes you use the trackpad, and don't want to change the speed settings each time. this is the solution

it's nagware, but that's ok. i still need to play with it for a couple days, but throw the guy some change. it's good stuff

I looked all around for exactly this software, and this is the only one I've found. Windows mouse settings are archaic. they haven't changed since '95. This provides a much needed utility that should be standard in 2008. Bravo, Code Maestro. I salute you.
