Editors’ Review
Full-featured photo-editing suites like Photoshop are all the rage, but they can be cumbersome to launch and use when you just need to make one quick correction. Fortunately, there are plenty of lightweight programs that devote themselves to one photo editing duty, making it easy to get your most common editing tasks taken care of quickly. Moo0 ImageSharpener is one such program; it does exactly what its name implies, and not much more.
Like most Moo0 programs, ImageSharpener has a basic, easy-to-navigate interface. There's a drop-down menu that lets users select whether they want to sharpen or blur their image, and the strength of the effect can be set from 0 to 100 percent. Drag the file or files you want to edit into the dropbox on the interface, and the program quickly does its thing and deposits the new files back in same location as the originals. That's pretty much it as far as the program's features are concerned, and there's no Help file. It's a pretty bare-bones application, but if you do a lot of blurring or sharpening, it might be exactly what you need. We tried both functions and were happy with the results; even set at 100 percent the effect is subtle, which makes the program just right for softening noise or making images more crisp.
Moo0 Image Sharpener installs politely but leaves a Start menu item and a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.
