  Pros

  As I have indicated previously, all versions prior to 1.6 generally worked very well and when there were issues the developer fixed promptly. Amazing the amount of space saved with useless language files and architecture files removed from programs.

  Cons

  There seems to be an on-going issue with monolingual for Yosemite (OS X 10.10.x) - It the app crashes on removing language or architecture files. On my machine the crash does not affect anything else, the app simply shuts down. latest version available as from this morning 27th march (Australia time), in answer to the issues raised - but sadly still not resolved. Crash log sent to developer with hope that it can be resolved.

  When it works it is fantastic, and i am hopeful the developer9s) can get it working without issues on OS X 10.10 - Personally, if they can, I'm happy to make a further donation as this app 9when it works) really rocks!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Mar 29, 2015<p/>Latest version released today is 1.6.6 and this now works on OS X.10.10(.2) - just fine. Ingmar and the team have worked hard to resolve the problem of it crashing when running under Yosemite and it now runs as it has always done under previous Mac operating systems. I recommend this app (as a user of the app since the earliest version), it really works and saves a lot of HD space.)

  Pros

  When this app works it is fantastic. i have lost count of the number of years i have used it, and it has always worked. it promptly removes all unnecessary language files, and my god these can really build up. It also removes all unnecessary architecture,a dn in doing these jobs frees up a lot of space.

  Cons

  Well, I am using OS X10.10 and this little app has never worked on Yosemite. At last 1.6.3 was released to fix the bug that caused it to crash on startup. I installed determined to rid myself of what i knew to be a truck load of unwanted language files, and, it crashed. I deleted it completely, reinstalled, and it crashed.

  Summary

  When it works, it works excellently. At the moment it sits in my Apps file, a pile of junk. Come on developers - get your act together, please!

  As it downloads &#38; works once at a single Mac computer.

  But the same dame downloads invariably a damaged file on the another computer with the same specifications.

  Those, who have unlimited patience, may train their capacities up to the utmost with tis application.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on May 28, 2014<p/>Their "secret": your GateKeeper must be turned off for the moment of installation, and then it works as expected.

  IT KILLED MY ADOBE CS AND MS OFFICE! Made them unusable. Kudos to Time Machine - got my expensive programs back!

  Adding programs to safe list, deselecting them, too much hassle. 3-4gb of saved space - size of a cheap flash drive vs $1000's of software - is not worth it.

  Takes a while to complete. On my i7 equipped iMac it took about 15 minutes to finish. Little longer on an i5.

  Summary

  I've used this app with two relatively recent vintage iMacs (mid 2010 &#38; late 2011) running under both Snow Leopard and Mountain Lion with absolutely no ill effects. The app reported saving me approximately 3.4GB of space. I didn't run the architecture function as I use DivX which likes the PowerPC option.

  Hi, I ran monolingual through my mac os x 10.5 it took just over an hour, boring. But it cleaned out 3.5GB of useless language files etc. I wasn't sure about the architectures so I didn't delete any of them at all. Over all great app. Thanks cnet

  Tick the unwanted language files &#38; architectures, Initially you will save Gigabytes of space. F the developer is to be congratulated for keeping this beauty up to date.

  Cons

  Beware if you tell it to remove the language that you work in. You will need to do a full OS reinstallation - NO way around it. But remember, it does ask you to check.

  Summary

  This is a wonderful app that works, and works fast, effectively and is FREE! Once you have chosen what you want removed and hit the GO button, it asks you to check - a nice reassuring thing! An annoying little personal quirk, once I have established what files i want removed, every time I run it on my iMac (3.06 Ghz), it remembers exactly what to remove and keep. Yet on my 15" Macbook pro, it insists on forgetting my language preferences and i have to check about a dozen unwanted languages each time. A small glitch that i suspect is local to my machine. The developer is to be congratulated on keeping pace with the architectural changes and is good at bringing forth appropriate updates.
