This free and simple utility lets you closely monitor your memory usage with the click of your mouse. It offers users a straightforward interface design and reliable performance.
MKN MemoryMonitor is easily accessed through a taskbar shortcut. Hovering your mouse over the shortcut reveals a condensed interface that displays an easily understandable graph representing your memory usage. Percentages of both your physical and page memory usage make it even easier to see your memory status. Right-clicking on the taskbar icon gives menu options for hiding the program, enabling the condensed graph, and optimizing your memory. The main user interface again breaks down your memory into physical and page usage. Under Physical Memory, the program breaks down the used memory into three categories: Delta, Kernel, and System Cache. The Page Memory breaks down the current usage into five categories: Peak, Kernel, Pagefaults, Pool Allocations, and Pool Frees. Optimization settings allow you to optimize your memory if it is less than an amount that you specify. You can also opt to optimize the memory when your system is idle. A Help feature is available through the main interface.
We found it easy to navigate between the condensed graph and the main user interface. And we liked the ability to quickly see memory usage--and optimize it. The program also cleanly uninstalled for us. That, coupled with MKN MemoryMonitor's simple design, will appeal to all users.
MKN MemoryMonitor monitors and optimizes the system's memory usage and performance. MemoryMonitor shows detailed information about the physical and paged memory, paging and pagefaults, and other data. It also displays the amount of memory used by the system kernel and cache. MemoryMonitor also runs in the background and optimizes the memory, enforcing more aggressive paging in low memory situations. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
