This free diagnostic program tests your processor speed, but the unreliable readings and error messages left a lot to be desired.

MSC CPU Benchmark 2008's user interface displays a graph that appears to display your CPU usage, along with your system's processor, model, type, and the availability of physical and virtual RAM. There are options along the left side of the interface for testing your processor speed, configuring the settings, and showing past and present test results. The program doesn't include any kind of temperature gauge commonly found in similar tools. From the Configurations menu, you can opt to show any warnings and important messages, as well as save any reports and optimize your processor speed. But each option that we selected produced an error message. Besides the error message, nothing happened when the Start Test button was selected, and the results were the same each time we checked.

The program offers a link to the publisher's site for help, but the support and online forums were unavailable when we paid them a visit. If you want a reliable CPU tool, we recommend you keep looking for one with better results.

Same score on 2 pcs of different processor speeds.

Does not do its job at all! Only has one function but was confusing to get it started.
Summary
I have two laptops of very different specs. Both are Intel Core 2 Duo processors and have the same RAM and OS, but one is T9400 @ 2.53GHz and the other is T7250 at 1.99GHz. This software gave both laptops identicle benchmark scores of 42555!? According to the global high score table, that puts both laptops joint 8th fastest cumputers in the world!
Very simple interface.

I liked how simple this was for me to use, one click started it.

It does not have its own thermal sensors.
Summary
I used this program as a stress test to see how my Q6600 would handle its overclock of 3.30GHz @1.3v. The test last around two and a half minutes. I had to use SpeedFan 4.33 to keep an eye on the temps. Using stock Intel cooler with Antec 1200 case the cpu maxed its temps out around 57-61 degrees C. It hit those temps after about a minute and held steady for the rest of the test. I would recommend this program to anyone looking for an easy free program for a quick stress test on thier oc'ed processors. I now know that my processor will not get too hot at its current setting.
