Convert DRM protected iTunes M4P music to mp3 or AAC on OS X.
MAC M4P Converter is an audio and music files M4P to MP3 converter. It converts any DRM protected iTunes music files (such as M4P, M4A, M4B) and unprotected music (such as MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, AA, aif) to plain MP3, WAV or AAC formats. Then you can share these converted files on any computers or music devices, such as Zune, PSP, Nokia, Santa, etc. MAC M4P Converter uses a virtual CD burning technology to simulate the burning and ripping/encoding process automatically. With MAC M4P Converter, you can easily convert protected audio and music files to plain MP3 formats, or AAC format. It does not crack DRM control. It bypass DRM control with a virtual CD-RW drive. Convert iTunes to play on Creative ZEN, iriver clix gen 2, iriver MP3 player, ARCHOS, PSP, Nokia, RIM BlackBerry, Sansa e200 Series, Sansa MP3 Player, etc. Fully automatic, MAC M4P Converter frees you from the hassles of copy protection without defeating the DRM copy-protection technology used by your audio files. This means it will function with all copy-protection measures, and it is completely legal.
A bit clumsy but got through it after a few minutes.
Summary
I only used it once (for one song) so I don't know about the issues the other user had. But it worked just fine. I would use it again.
Good BUT slow or none tech support
mcallery
Pros
Piece of cake when it works. I dumped about 500 files on my folder and let it burn overnight. Worked like a charm!
Cons
Now that I am half way through, I'm having difficulties and have sent a few emails with no reply. Hopefully soon. Other than that, NO cons!
Summary
Definitely a product to buy. I have little doubt mine is an isolated incident, though it did happen after upgrading to iTunes 10.2.2<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Apr 20, 2011<p/>In my opinion, this download has become a financial loss. After two days, it will no longer function. It requests that I install the virtual CD driver, even though I have uninstalled and re-installed the software. The only system change was to iTunes 10.2.2. I have sent four emails to the address listed and/or the support address with NO response. I would NOT recommend this software.
eliminates the manual swapping of physical cds
mckee1211
Pros
Uses a virtual CD so that eliminate the need to sit there and supply burnable cds one after the other
Cons
nit picking but I wish the developer would number the first ripped file so that it is in sequence with the following "ripped" files
Summary
the automation of supplying the (virtual) cds eliminate the need to sit there and remove burned cds with new burnable ones
Awful software, poor tech support
PHDGRL
Pros
No pros, because the software did nothing but crash
Cons
Software didn't work, and the company refused to refund my money
Summary
Don't bother. It doesn't work and they company won't refund your money. I just threw away $44.
woefully out of date
Zeke Canidae
Pros
There are No pros for current iTunes version.
Cons
This is out of date; it doesn't work with iTunes 9 and I'm not going back to a previous version in order to use this program
Summary
This might be helpful to people using iTunes 6 who never upgrade to version 9.
great idea ... but
drxian86
Pros
it only seems to convert one track with itunes 8.1.1..
Cons
basicly doesnt work.... only one track converted is not enough...
also itunes 8.1.1 is bright enough to dissallow converting certain m4p tracks to mp3...:(
Summary
all this crap just to export a playlist AND tracks as something you can stick on a thumbdrive and listen to somewhere else. shame on you apple!!
