issues on Windows 8

- Will not generate report and show you. Instead it wants to email it to you on windows 8 or at least this version does.

- I can not be certain but either this version or Windows 8 will not allow for a direct summary. I have used a previous version a few yrs back that worked fine on all my Windows xp vista 7 and 8. It gave all the info I needed and was right there. Either this version or windows 8 will not allow to show summary, instead it wants to send it via email. Have installed and uninstalled many times with no new outcomes on obtaining the info I want. I find Belarc Advisor or even WinAudit to be much more superior and reliable. So my recommendation for LIMPC is only if you are using say the 2009-2011 version, otherwise don't bother. You should not have to receive by email a report.

- Installs to USB device, so portable. Very extensive report - includes everything I need and more; It's FREE! Report uses hyperlinks to launch web search on reported items.

- Doesn't report product key(s); Missed Outlook Express as default e-mail in report on test machine; No search feature (had to use "find" function in browser - no biggie, but that might stump some users); Tested on XP-SP3 only so far.

- Provided a LOT of information in one free, easy, fast, portable installation. Only missing a couple of very important line items in the report (reports product serial number but NOT product keys)... almost complete. I expect I'll use it more and will test on other OS's.

- A program designed to provide a quick system report, shouldn't require installation. Converting this to a single-file executable would go a long way to making this a useful tool.

- I installed the product at the recommendation of a site I trust, and it seemed to do what it was intended to very well. I only ran the report once before uninstalling it.

- Installs "autoerror.exe" which gives random supposedly funny error messages. There's no warning that this will occur.
- Summary
- Not long after I downloaded it, I started getting pop-up "error messages" from "Dell System Buddy" when I do not have a Dell laptop or any installed Dell software. The errors were strange (e.g., "There's lint in your socket"). A little searching showed that this program installed a program that creates these random erroneous messages. That program can be uninstalled on its own, but I personally don't trust any company that does this without making it very obvious to its software's users.
