Use low and high pass audio filter or splitter.
This is first- and higher-order low-pass and high-pass filter (including third-order butterworth) with capability of splitting signal into high-frequency and low-frequency components at stereo output. The components are phase synchronized, you can process them (e.g. with dynamics effects), then combine them back. When Factor = .618 it serves as third-order butterworth filter/splitter having 1 int the pass-band and 18dB/octave rolloff in the stop-band.
