Developer’s Description

Back up your important files while your computer is idle.
LazySave is intelligent backup software that runs as a screensaver. Free to try. Whenever your screensaver cuts in, LazySave starts backing up your important files. Every time you pause for a break all your important files are checked and backed up. Uniquely then, it runs when you are not at your computer, and so does not slow your computer down when you are using it. The time between files and folders being created/changed and them being backed up is minimised with LazySave as you do not have to wait for an overnight backup. It is fully featured allowing for duplicate, differential and version control backups. Simply specify one or more Sets. A Set is a folder and it's sub folders. 'My Documents' is a good starting point.

Duplication Backup. Select Date/Time under Copy Rules to enable duplication backup. This backup type keeps a complete mirror image of the folders specified. Use this to keep a copy of all your important files and folders. Use it as a substitute for an overnight backup.

Differential. Select 'Source file has been set to Archive' under Copy Rules to enable differential backup. If you have an 'overnight' main backup, set LazySave to maintain a differential set of files. LazySave will keep a copy of only those files that have changed since your last overnight backup. LazySave will not clog up your backup folders with copies of files that have been backed up overnight. Select 'Source file has been set to Archive' under Copy Rules to enable differential backup.

Version Control. Check the 'Create New Backup Folder Each Day' option to ensure version control. One for the techies or project workers. We often want to see a set of folders as they were yesterday, or last week. The backup starts a new dated folder each day into which the backed up folders are copied. User Defined. Set your own options of Date/Time, folders and use of archive bits.
