AceBackup is a data-protection tool for your computer or local network. You can store data on FTP servers as well as on local storage devices (HDD, FDD, ZIP, JAZZ, MO or USB drives, folders in LAN and also recordable CD/DVD) with only a few mouse clicks. You can back up your data automatically using the integrated scheduler. In only a few steps, you can back up or restore your confidential data. You can also restore files in the original folder or in any other folder after a crash disaster. AceBackup saves several versions of similar files and has a filter for file extensions to store specific file types. The easy-to-use Explorer-like interface makes it easy to protect your data at different compression levels. That way you save backup space and the strong encryption (128-bit) keeps your backups safe.

Pros
Works fine, allows FTP encrypted backups to your own website domain as well as backups to local area workstations. Can be scheduled to run via Windows Scheduler. Has options to run and perhaps shut down programs before the backup is run. Several options for how to backup up. Can send a backup log email to track how the backup went.
Cons
Doesn't seem to have an option to override and backup 'locked' files.

Easy to Install. Interface fairly simple to use.

Scheduling DOES NOT WORK.

Tried every which way to make scheduling work. Logged in during scheduled task, etc. etc.Task Scheduler shows process ran. But program never executes back up. Don't want to gripe about a free product. But in current form, it's useless.

Pros
Acebackup contains all functions I need and it is very stable. It is more powerfull than 2 other apps for which I payed about 30 USD

Some functions are a little odd implemented. It took some time until I understood how to use them

Easy to download!
Cons
Froze. Would not run scheduled tasks. Difficult interface. Never got a "test" to even work. Deleted it after an hour of frustration.
