  Summary

  Mirrorfolder does an acceptable job handling real time and scheduled data backup, but, upgrades cost extra and tech or customer support is non-existent. For instance, customer service has ignored our request for a replacement installation key for 14 days now, even though we have provided proof-of-purchase. And with no way to check your account information on their site, we are left to their 'good graces' to get what we have paid for(and need). My advice? Stay away from this company. There are many backup options where companies are interested in helping their customers, not just cashing the check and ignoring support tickets.

  Pros

  Easy to set up, works well, easy to use, reliable. Does not use up a lot of system resources and works silently in the background. Great for backing up your data and mirroring your hard drives. Even works on internal networks.

  Cons

  None. Does everything I need.

  Summary

  I have this software installed on my home machine and work machine. It has never missed a back up. It is basically a synchronization software. It will even backup my camera memory cards automatically, never any lost photos.

  Pros

  I use MirrorFolder to back up my laptop every night to a network drive. So far, almost 1 year, it has worked flawlessly.

  I wish it would mirror to an ftp or online storage.

  I haven't really had any problems and it appears that my data is all there. I do like the simple to use interface although I had to read the how to use it guide several times.

  Cons

  I am concerned about its integration with windows. I hope that MirrorFolder's stability is not dependent on Explorer; however, my guess is that it is. I am going to see if there are some better alternatives out there before I buy.

  I've tried others such as visaversa. Mirror Folder is so much easier to setup & operate. The integration with Explorer is a great user interface.

• DO NOT USE: Replaced my data with bad data & Zero response from Tech Support

  DO NOT BUY! I have a copy of the email that was sent to tech support to verify all claims I make here. They do not have a US phone number to call. I found this software for an engineering firm to keep a realtime copy of their electronic library and then have a scheduled backup. My client paid for this program because it appeared to be what they wanted. They called the next day and almost every file and folder that this program copied had been corrupted and the name had been changed. Fortunately they had a full copy to work from. I sent a detailed report including screenshots to their support. We never heard a word and they never were refunded their money. DO NOT BUY!

• Excellent file/folder sync program

  This is by far one of the best file/folder sync programs on the market and I have look at a bunch of them. Its extremely intuitive and very fast. Don't know what version they other users on here tried but I am working with v2.0 downloaded on 10/29/03 and it works exactly as advertised. The only major short-coming I believe the program has is that there appears to be no way to see a list of all the folders you have set up for sync or to manually sync all of them in one shot.
