Editors’ Review
If you can get past a complex setup, this app speeds up access to user-selected apps and folders. The Lazy Mouse interface is a convoluted combination of a toolbar pop-up, folders, and buttons. On install, this app almost forces users to read the program manual. That's a good idea since configuring Lazy Mouse is the most difficult aspect of the program. The easiest way to add apps and shortcuts to the mouse menu is by simply dragging files to a special set of folders. Setting the location of the folders is what will confuse novice users.
Operating this app is much easier than configuring it. You merely double-click the middle mouse button anywhere on the screen to display a set of menu buttons at that location. It's also easy to program the app to use a hot key to display the buttons. Depending on program configuration, clicking a button opens an app or a pop-up menu of folders. It's also easy to set the app to use the mouse wheel to navigate the buttons. Getting the hang of navigating the menus takes some practice.
For patient users, Lazy Mouse can be a powerful navigation tool. The freeware program is best utilized by experienced users who don't mind spending some time learning the app now in order to save time later.
