Kernel for Word is an advanced tool designed to repair MS Word .DOC and .DOCX files that has gone damaged due to various physical and logical reasons. Nucleus Kernel for Word extracts text even from heavily damaged *.DOC files and never deletes from disk, writes to, or modifies the original document files when performs any operation including Microsoft Word document recovery. At the time of repairing the selected files, the software creates a folder named REC at the specified location. There, the software creates a folder corresponding to every Word file selected for repairing. Inside every such folder, the software creates two Word files (one in text format and another in the original format of the file) and another folder for holding media objects and photos.

Tool attracted me, I downloaded it, and was surprised.

I received more broken word file and nothing more after using Kernel for Word.
They will cheat you and go away.

Summary
I'll promise if I knew I would avoid using this product. Software tricked my expectations. When it almost completely restored my corrupted word documents it had terribly imported my documents to the new files. After using this application you need to use powerful repair utility for gathering scattered parts by Kernel for Word.

Beware: The demo version reports files as repaired when you run them trough the program, but there is no way to see the results until you buy the full version. Once you have the full version you realize your files cannot be fixed with this product.<p>A refund? good luck...

NOTHING TO LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT! IT DOES NOT WORK. ALSO, CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOES NOT ABIDE BY THEIR OWN REFUND POLICIES. A LAW SUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN

The product would not import Word 2003 files as it claims to do. I contacted customer support and they would not work with me even though their refund policy states they will provide a full refund if their product does not work and the cannot recover the files. The phone support is at some Indian guy's house. Also, they claim to be four-star CNET award winners. I found no such rating on CNET/Download.com. The CS person told me I had to try the demo version before buying the product in order to receive a refund. Their refund policy recommends, NOT REQUIRES, download of the demo version. See below:<p>"We recommend you to download and use our free demo version of the software before ordering the full product."<p>This is part of their bogus 30 day guarantee. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT, IT IS BAD!

The trial version worked great, until you actually want to recover something.
Cons
I downloaded the trial version of the software to recover some corrupt files. It appeared to find them so I bought the full version to recover the files. Not only did they double charge me for the software, but the password they sent me for access rights did not even work.<p>Ever time I emailed them about the double charge, they would tell me that it would be taken care of shortly. It was never taken care of, and now it's too late for my CC company to recover the loss.
