  Pros

  It is good for creating reservation and not allowing you to overbook

  Cons

  Terrible customer service, redundant steps to closing out an invoice, unless you buy their merchant services and equipment you are limited with the accounting functions, if you are switching from an operating system from another company to their they will lie to you regarding how much information gets transferred. The only thing that gets transferred is customer name & pet name, address & phone number. No vaccine, vet or pet information other than name will get transferred. Lastly, If you need help and it's 10 minutes to their closing they will remind you of that and will not help you and tell you to leave a message. This is very poor customer service especially for the Pacific coast customers.

  Summary

  Don't buy!!!! Look at other options. Staff including corporate management are extremely rude and unprofessional.

  Nice layout and design.

  Cons

  Support is lacking to the point of frustration. Keeps closing with errors Not very flexible. Can only have certain windows open so others are locked out You are forced to upgrade before you can submit a support ticket

  Summary

  I can't compare it to another kennel software. With all of the issues it may be better than others.

• Worst customer service ever

  It is a kennel software program.

  Cons

  If you buy a new computer and try to install your current version of the software on your new computer, it will not let you use it because they don't give you a disk of your current version. When you install the version you have, it says you have the wrong version and closes the program. If you call the company to get a download of your current PAID FOR version, they lie and say they don't have access to it because "it would bog down the system" and that the only thing they can do offer the latest version for $350 because it's on sale right now. Blue Crystal Software is the only software company that I've ever heard of that doesn't offer downloads of software that you have already paid for. Stay far away from this company!!!

  Summary

  I don't hate the software, I despise the company. If they really cared about their business, they would make the customers happy and they might want to continue to do business with them.

  Pros

  - It doesn't require an Internet connection.

  Cons

  - Everything's split into various modules that're sold separately from one another, and these modules don't play nicely together. The training module causes us a LOT of headaches. - It works on Windows Vista/7/8, although it becomes unresponsive pretty often. If someone in your office habitually double-clicks on buttons, then KC will crash pretty often because of it. - It's VERY slow, especially over a network. - Moving pets is a chore. The software often moves pets to runs that you didn't select without even giving you the opportunity to decline, and letting the software piece a series of runs together for you is a gamble. - Reports are uninspired and lack much in the way of customization. - The available features tend to vary between networked machines. - The interface relies too much on tabs, and it's poorly designed. Information that'd be useful to have access to when booking reservations is only available from other screens that you can't access while booking reservations.

  Summary

  This software's terrible, but it's the best that you can currently get that doesn't require a constant Internet connection.

• Prepare to spend money if you want it to do anything

  It keeps info organized and gives alerts when vaccines are out of date

  Cons

  The initial $800 doesn't do anything except file your information. It does not come with a calender, quickbooks, or the ability to sync your phone. Even if you buy one of the modules to get a calender it's not a good calender like in outlook. If you want it to do anything more than a regular index card could do you will have to spend hundreds of more dollars

  Summary

  I regret buying this program. Even the quickbooks option cost significantly more just buying quickbooks. So I just bought quickbooks. I'm not even using this product because it's EASIER to use outlook

  Summary

  Small operations - perfect. Anything that you are doing on a large scale, the software can't handle and if you want them to customize anything for the program, it's expensive. Calling in for support is marginal, at best.

• The best out there!

  Paid for training, but well worth it to train our staff of 10 people!

  Summary

  We have been using Kennel Connection for about a year now and we love it. We had software from another company that wasn't up front about the fact that if we didn't continue to pay for the support. These people don't require you to pay for support, but it's well worth it. I don't know what the other person is talking about because I always deal with the same person if I call and they have always been on top of my issues. I use the Quickbooks link and it works great, we just had to make sure to set it up right, but the trainer reviewed all of that with us and we were good to go once we made sure everything was ready to sync. I've never had a problem with support and it's very easy to update. All you have to do is log in to the support site, click the update link and download the file and run it. It's not rocket science and they e-mail instructions to you as well if you need them, OR they'll log in to your computer and do it for you, we did that the first time to make sure we didn't mess up but after watching them do it, I realized I could have done that myself in 2 minutes. Give them a shot, you won't be sorry!

  Relatively easy to learn and use. Features that cover just about every aspect of the kennel business.

  Cons

  The quickbooks dirtect sync module is terrible, and creates far more work than it eliminates. The company is heavy on sales and very light on support. Even their website is a sales pitch, and it's very difficult (impossible) to find software updates.

  Summary

  I've used kennel connection for roughly 13 years now, and I've always been happy with the product... that is until I've needed technical help. At that point I've dealt with one tech support person, then been forgotten about until I contacted tech support again, only to find that I was dealing with a new person who had no knowledge of my issue... then I repeated this process 4 times while trying to deal with one issue. Confusing? I thought so. The issue was with the quick books direct sync, which we spent over a month trying to resolve, and in the end we were told that it couldn't be fixed... which brings me to my next point: Quick books direct sync is a train wreck... I would strongly recommend against purchasing the directsync module. Blue Crystal's support has always been a bit laughable, but for the most part I haven't had to rely on them. A recent website change seems to have buried the software updates under a pile of sales pitches... And though you may be left waiting for days to hear back from support, you'll never have any trouble at all getting through to a sales person. You may just want to try calling a sales person with your technical issues, at least they'll answer the phone.
