  This product does what it says it does in terms of removing "AIM" ads...

  Cons

  What the author doesn't tell you is that he replaces the AIM Ads with his own at the messenger start up screen. It's not necessarily spyware, but you're trading one type of ad for another.

• Just what I wanted, a naked Buddy List!

  Pros

  Having read the one bad review, I was a little sketchy, but for me it works as it says: totally gets rid of the ad--space and all, making for a much cleaner looking Buddy List. <p> <p> <p>Installation couldn't have been easier aside from the minor inconvenience of closing out AIM to reopen it a second later. <p> <p> <p>It must be noted, however, that I'm using the last AIM version (oldversion.com :D) before the big Triton overhaul.

  Great app, does exactly what advertised. Just be sure to use the 98 version of AIM. <p> <p>I have been using this app for years.

  When you sign on it has a Keithware logo instead of the AIM logo but nothing big.

  It does exactly what it says it does: gets rid of any kind of ad in AIM. It's a small download, and gets the job done in under one minute.

  None. That is, unless you like seeing the AIM yellow figure when you log in.

  it also screws up the rest of the display window. I couldn't resize it, couldn't access my buddy list to edit it and there is no way to remove the .dll file once installed unless you reinstall AOL.

  Pros

  I expect this may've been a good product for the earlier releases of AIM, but in the later versions- which are the only ones available to download off their site, and consequently, the ones most people use- it doesn't work at all. <p> <p>I would recommend Trillian [which you can downlaod here]. Its unpaid version is superb and doesn't have a single ad, ever. No extra baggage, either.

  It made AIM crash every time I opened it. =( Maybe the newer versions of AIM have a script/block against the program or something, because it just made everything go haywire. -_-'

  I loved this one because it actually worked. I downloaded the AIM ad remover before this one and it didn't work on the version that I had. Went ahead and tried this one and lo and behold, BAM it's gone! Everyone else here said it asked for where AIM was, but on mine it found it automatically. Not sure what I did differently. Oh and another great thing..it completely removed the ad window, it's no longer there!

  Pros

  Not only does it stop the adds from comming tru but it also copleteley removes that section of the window so there is no wasted space. Similar programs have only managed to replace ads with a blank space. <p>Every time AIM would change ads you computer would also wake up from the screensaver or monitor off mode. This program also eliminates that problem.

  Cons

  No errors in the program but you will have to locate the folder titled "AIM" for it so it knows where your messenger is.
