• Hot Corners makes corners useful

  I use Hot Corners to activate my screensaver and to mute my audio... I haven't used the Mouse Move feature. Activating (or enabling/disabling) the screensaver is a built-in function choice to assign to a 'hot' corner, but for audio-muting I used the Run function for another corner... and run a handy audio toggle utility from NirSoft.

  <br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Aug 28, 2016<p/>[Updated] I've been using Hot Corners for years (now with Windows 10) to activate my screensaver and to mute my audio... it's safe to use unless you download from a bad source, I guess. I believe antivirus warnings were false positives. I haven't used the Mouse Move feature (Winkey+X is already assigned by recent Windows versions). The 'Search Google' option is handy, and quick. If you have trouble getting configuration settings to save, use 'Run as administrator' to run hotcorners.exe one time and make your changes... this allows the program to save the config.ini file. Afterward, just run Hot Corners normally. Running (or enabling/disabling) the screensaver is one of the included options ready to assign to a screen corner... but for audio-muting I used the Run function for another corner... and assigned a prog for toggling audio on/off (from NirSoft, NirCmd.exe mutesysvolume 2). I created a .bat file with command: Start /w C:\NirCmd\nircmd.exe mutesysvolume 2 ...and then used Bat To Exe Converter to make it into a .exe file... the converter allows suppressing the pop up window when using .bat files, among other options. Hot Corners works great for me.

  This file contains the SdBot worm. Specifically: WORM/SdBot.686957.A [worm]

  Summary

  Unlike Jesse869, I'm not willing to accept that it is an error with my virus scan. I use Avira and I've never had a false positive before so I don't know why I would start having them now. I highly advise anyone thinking of downloading this thinks twice before doing so.

• Way too sensitive on Vista

  It is a good idea, but it needs lots of improvement!!!

  Cons

  Its too sensitive!!! When I moved the mouse at least 1 centemeter across my screen, internet explorer opened up MORE THAN 25 TIMES, my screen saver randomly turned on, and my computer turned off by itself because it was being overloaded.

  Summary

  This program WOULD be one of my favorite launching programs, if it wasn't so dam sensitive.

  With Norton 360 disabled, program installed fine and did what it says it does.

  Cons

  With Norton 360 enabled, the program won't run. Norton removes Hotcorners.exe because it thinks it is a virus called W32.Svich.

  Summary

  This could be a very useful product if the developers can get around the antivirus programs thinking it is a virus.
