  It is very nebulous loading. It takes a long time and does not tell you what it is doing. Finally I completed the set-up and ran it. I chose the drive letter that I want to scrub. I immediately get a pop-up window that says "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application . . . The system can not find the file specified." Huh? What does that mean. I click "Continue" but it does not do anything so I have to click "Quit". I try the set-up again and I have the option to "Repair" or "Remove" the MSDS. I click "Repair" and the program proceeds to do something and then declares the "Repair" done. I ran the program again but got the same result and same worthless pop-up message. The next time I ran the program I clicked "Remove" so it is now gone. And I only wasted two hours on this POS.

  Total junk. Don;t waste your time. Find a real working disc scrubber program.

  Pros

  It's very, very fast compared to all of the others I've tried. It's easily configurable, although you have to read the short user guide to get the best out of it. I love it.

  This program could be improved by including an explanation, (in the user guide), of the technique(s) the program uses to accomplish its aims. Having used other programs such as 'Window Washer', which was my preferred option until I got fed-up with the lack of support for Win7, I am faintlyaware that wiping a disc is not necessarily as simple as creating a huge file or files to match the amount free space available and then writing something to that file or files. From what I understand, there are a number of other steps needed to ensure all tracks of confidential data are destroyed. The trouble is, I cannot remember the details and I'd have liked some measure of confidence that these 'hidden tracks' are, in fact, deleted as well. One further thing I did find a pain, (which is unlikely to worry 99% of users), is that I could not be sure that the overwrite string I defined was actually used by the program, since my text was transformed to a series of '???' after I had written and saved it. This is a real shame and I'd have given 5* if this were not the case. Another is the fact that the elapsed time the program has been running is not displayed - an easy problem to fix, surely and one I'm surprised was omitted when the 'time-to-go' feature was added. Overall, a very, very good program and it beats all the others I've tried hands-down. Thank you to the company for making this available free and so easy to use.

  Pros

  Easy download, simple instructions, pretty quick (2h 45m for a 300 GB), superb customer email service.

  Cons

  The PDF instruction sheet should warn you to shut off your computer's power management before scrubbing, otherwise the scrub will "pause" on power shutdown, necessitating a complete restart. Apart from that - no problems.

  See all the above. Again - Very impressed with the email customer service...prompt, courteous, helpful...all on a hot summer Sunday in August! Best of the 64 bit scrubber software to date.

  Unable to evaluate as it is not an approved product by MS. I'm running Win7 Ultimate 64 bit. Other versions may be different. I don't know.

  Pros

  Faster than at least 10 different programs I've tried. Real time progress bars, simple to use, integrates into explorer....fast, fast, fast.

  First off I have to admit to using a lot of software and never taking the time to write a review (shame on me), but this one was impressive and I think it deserves it. I spent most of the morning trying different software to wipe a drive including a DBAN DOS run on a server. All failed or slated 10-20 hours for a 250GB drive. In a last ditch effort I tried this one. The time estimates were dead on. In less than a couple hours it completed with no errors. Simple to use and most of all.....fast, fast, fast! Hats off on this one.

  IT SEEMS TO BE THE QUICKEST ONE I'VE USED SO FAR, OF THE FREE ONES OFFERED ANYWERE. HOW QUICK IS IT ?? WILL I'M DOING A SUPER PASS SETUP THATS 5 PASSES ALL DIFFERENT AT NORMAL PRIORITY WORKING ON 134GB FREE SPACE

  TRIED OTHERS AND JUST RAN THEM AT MINIMUM PASS AND IT TOOK FOREVER, DOUBLE DIGIT HOURS LIKE ADAY AND HALF. RAN FIVE PASSES ALL DIFFERENT AT NORMAL PRIORITY WITH DISK SCRUBBER 3.3 IN AN AFTERNOON ON 134GB FREE SPACE AND STILL BEING ABLE TO USE MY COMPUTER AS NORMAL - SURFING AND DOWNLOADING. BOTTOM LINE- YOU CANT GO WRONG HERE ....the_GASS.......
