Thanks to this program's step-by-step tips, managing your files and folders is as simple as a few clicks of your mouse. GoodSync successfully synchronized important files between folders on our computer, as well as on our USB device.

To a novice, the user interface might appear a bit overwhelming; however, step-by-step pop-up windows will quickly guide you through navigating the program. All we had to do was browse for the two folders that we wanted to synchronize. We were even able to browse for files on external devices, including a USB thumb drive. The program quickly analyzed our folders and displayed their contents into two separate panels. We were able to pick out the specific files to include in the synchronization and, using the Sync feature, we synced the folders so that they each contained the same files. We were able to view all of the changes, as well as any conflicts or errors. You can apply filters using the Program Options menu.

The program doesn't include a built-in help feature, but it does feature an online manual and FAQ through the publisher's Web site, and the 30-day trial is more than enough time to find your bearings. We highly recommend this file synchronization tool for all user levels.

Pros
Really liked this software, used and recommended it for years until recent paid upgrade and a super unpleasant experience with support
Cons
After purchasing upgrade and learning the software doesn't support my workflow, the company wouldn't accommodate a refund. Support messages were condescending and made it clear that this company doesn't value repeat business from loyal users.

Easy to use, for the most part if you want to do simple backups

Terrible customer support. My license stopped working after a windows update, and I was told I would need to acquire a new license. From what I gather from the sketchy support, if I reformatted my hard drive I would also be required to purchase a new license. No way to deactivate a license, though last year this was an option. Apparently not anymore.
Summary
There are free programs that do my backups just as well. I got tired of trying to get a thoughtful and responsible level of customer service from GoodSync. It does not seem to be in their business plan.

Nice product except my understanding is that if Goodsynch was ever hacked and the Goodsynch Connect passwords were compromised, then someone could readily download the entire contents of your computer simply by putting your computer on their synch list. (Supposedly this hole is being fixed by Goodsynch sometime around August 2017 but in the meantime this seems to be a real potential issue, based on my understanding of the situation.)

Pros
Easy interface, syncing from anywhere, never had a cash or problem with the program syncing from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Handles large amounts of data with ease, never had a corrupt file or issue for years.
Cons
Very easy to delete tons of files if you set your sync direction wrong. But this is only needs common sense to avoid.
Summary
Fantastic Program, I use it to sync massive (50GB+) Runtime directories for my 3D work. Means I can work on my desktop, sync, and have all the changes on my laptop for work on the go. This program won't stop you from deleting your own files though, DO NOT have this program sync ALL YOUR BACKUPS at once. If you lose tons of files like some have said, it's your own fault, always have a backup of your important data physically separated from your working files.

For most simple syncing - the program is great.
Cons
For more complicated syncing, on servers, across platforms, using different permissions management, it breaks down. And the bigger issue is that the support offered, even for paid pro customers is abysmal. The online help customer service reps are rude. On the phone, they don't really know how to help and keep forwarding you from one person to another.
Summary
Great for simple syncing, not well supported enough for more complex needs.

Pros
You can setup backup up files for replaced files, I work with large files that sometimes I don't need to backup so I love the Exclusion feature. External hard drives can change letter Drive on Windows but GoodSync detects the driver automatically, so you don't need to re-setup everything. I have changed from laptop to laptop and I have not had any issue reactivating the software. You can also schedule time to time backups and create multiple profiles. In my case I backup some files to an External HD and the hole disck to a 3TB Drive.
Cons
Not for simple users, it's require some time to setup the backups the way you want it.

Overall there isn't really much out there to replace this of a kind system. It's easy to operate and well worth the upgrade benefits.

Pros
This is the fastest backup software I've tried, it's rapid.
Cons
Every time I open the software there is a new update available. Like I've got nothing better to do with my time. Note to developers: integrate the backups in the damn software please to make updates faster and seamless.
Summary
Fast. But personally I prefer Bvckup 2. Nicest interface I've seen. The dev has one hell of an attention to detail.
Worst Support Ever Received.. Still Doesn't Work

Um... it used to work, so gee maybe a pro if I had a time machine.
Cons
Tried to make it work, sent numerous online messages (only available TS), tried phone, waited about 30 minutes, kept getting irritating message, and was finally told in recording to use their online support. Excellent example of circular disaster. TS online support was, in a word, a terrible experience. The person appeared to just give some type of very general advice (like a computer program.. and maybe it was) and when I asked, repeatedly for specific advice, I didn't receive it. I'm a paid annual user and I still can't use the program. I sent an e-mail to the corporate office and never heard back. The Roboform program works, and fortunately it seem, I guess to back up all my logins, so I guess I'll have to print them all out, but doesn't that defeat the security of one's logins?
Summary
Very Disappointed in Goodsync's lack of tech support, even when I spent a tremendous amount of time an effort on my part and received some of the worst tech support I've ever received.
