• Bad. Very Bad!

  - Downloaded and installed very easily - I had no bloatware or advertising at all. Just the program software!

  Cons

  - Tried 3 different mikes. All attempts failed to convert accurately - Even with precise enunciation, or quick / slow speaking, this did not work

To describe this as garbage would be very inaccurate. Garbage is much higher in the pecking order than this software. Junkware might be better...

  Pros

  It confirms what I've told people all along - if you download any software from CNET, you'd better be careful and have good antivirus software. Windows SmartScreen caught it before it ever downloaded - even before McAfee. That was a first! I have downloaded and used some decent software from CNET in the past, but I rarely do it anymore, for just this reason.

  Apparently this is just one more unsafe piece of junk from CNET.

• Riddle with junk and virus checker screams at you!

  Pros

  Can't find any not only are you alerted to the Malware hidden and I use that term losely within the software, you are also alerted to a suspected Trojan sat within in it.

  Cons

  As above. This piece of software is a shell for nasty junk that just wants to do your machine harm. Hidden malware and a suspected Trojan.

• Didn't work, filled my PC with junk

  None - no redeeming features whatever.

  Cons

  I downloaded this while trying to find a free alternative to the expensive voice-recognition options out there. My antivirus software was suspicious of it, and I wish I'd listened to it - although it didn't infect my PC (as far as I know) it comes bundled with several other software packages, including Opera and an irritating password manager called Dashlane. You can uncheck tickboxes to prevent this but I was not careful enough and they installed. Couldn't get the speech recognition to do more than open on my PC - it certainly didn't work. And then spent twenty minutes getting angry as I tried to uninstall all the other trash that came with it. This was not easy, since it did not appear on the applications install/uninstall list on Windows, and entailed hunting down all the many files it had installed in various folders across my hard drive. My advice: stay well away from this product, which reminded me of the bad old days of the Yahoo tool bar.

  It offers what I want - voice to text.

  Cons

  Even with my excellent microphone, it fails to recognize clearly dictated words. I wasted more time correcting than I would have used to type from scratch. Also, this download loads way too much unwanted bloatware and changes your settings without permission.

  This program uses your microphone to convert spoken word into text.

  The text generated makes little to no sense.

  Summary

  Literally over 90% of what I said was misinterpreted by this program. I pride myself in proper speech, but this software couldn't even recognize the military phonetic alphabet. It was amusing for the first 2 minutes of random typing that resulted, but after that, it wasn't worth the frustration.
