Would be fab if they allowed Export of your data.

Pros
Easy to understand, main records can have Sub-Data records linked to them allowing large text fields or multiple records (like attendance) linked to them. So simple relational database but hides the technicalities. Simple email features via copy to clipboard suitable for upto 250 or so records. Good help file and some sample databases included.
Cons
Watch out with the LE free version as they have disabled the File/Export option. All the data you enter will be trapped unless you upgrade or print out reports and then cut/paste it elsewhere. Older v7.3 did allow File/Export by the way.
Summary
Would get 5 stars if only they had not blocked File Export in this updated version. Would prefer a database size limit to this as I don't want my data trapped unless I pay for the upgrade to pro version.

Pros
None relative to the previous version.
Cons
If like me you are a long-term user of File Amigo 7, stick to it and ignore this new version, whose interface is poor, and which is much harder to use. Exporting from version 7 to version 11 is a nightmare - all your previous settings get mangled, and you end up having to re-format everything. The tables look uglier, too.
Summary
Perhaps OK for newcomers, but for existing users, not an improvement at all. Stick to version 7, or risk damaging all your existing Amigo files.

It won't work, just says FileAmigo has stopped working and because the free program doesn't come with support I have had to uninstall it.

Pros
It's free, and it's simple to use. Lots of Help files if you need them. I created a template in a few minutes, and then it took just seconds to import the contents of an old MS Works database - FileAmigo is more sophisticated than that ever was.
Cons
No Cons yet. It took a lot of finding - it's a great pity it doesn't come up when you do a search for "database" on download.com
Summary
If you want an easy-to-use database with loads of features, and most of the free ones frighten you off because they are too technical for you, then look no further, you won't find better than this.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Aug 3, 2009<p/>Found one big drawback - no matter how I try, it ignores the column widths I specify when I create a file. It always makes them much wider than I want, which is annoying. It's a shame because it's a good app otherwise.

You can add different scenerios for simple database event tracking and great reporting w/ filtering or exporting. Has ability to add file attachment to reports.
Cons
None can think of.

Pros
Adding for each record, the type of data I like to enter every time. Then automatically show up in a form without me putting them there. Also the preview of the whole info in html with attachments that I have added previously.
Cons
I wish there was a way, instead of directlng the file location by hand, that it would take the drag drop function. it would save time. Also it takes the file, renames it and dump it in fileamigo folder. There was no order to the content directory.
Summary
I like the idea of having the database premade. all you have to do is tell it what you want. If I were to install Microsoft Access, I could have done all that on my own, but my database would not run independently without Office. Also, the premade functions like file option, The prog asks for the file location then adds it to your database. This is crazy, and absolutly nice. The systems shows you that you are not limited to text. The date record adding support is perfect. Even better, you can change anything in your database at any time. That is the most PRO prog. The only problem is that it doesn't take drag and drop. Also i can't double click a record to have it open for editing. Also there should be a button on every form to add subdata information which i already configured for data entry. Right clicking is monotonous in this application.

Pros
I found it very easy to use. Inputting and searching through data is child's play, and it's a very simple matter to change fields, and add new fields to an exisiting database. Remarkably capable for a free programme.
Cons
Formatting options (arrangement of fields on a page, fonts, appearance generally) are severely limited. It's a good idea to back-up your individual databses as Excel files, otherwise you might lose the lot if a crash occurs.
Summary
It's no FileMaker Pro, but it's wonderful, considering that it's available for free, and for very simple and straightforward database design, it does its job remarkably well. Don't expect too much and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Free, works great, very easy to use, will handle large volumes of data.
Cons
The free version works great but the upgrade version for networking seems to have networking problems.

I love the free version but don't buy the upgrade.
Easiest, most dependable file management database program I've worked with!

Pros
Easy to set up your initial fields. Easy to change variables in the fields later. Good sorting ability. It is superb for setting up customer route systems. It's free. I highly recommend it! <p>It automatically saves info upon quitting.
Cons
Only one problem I saw. When setting it up to sort, low numbers had to be entered 01, 02, etc. verses 1,2,3

Excel does way more than this program, excel can at least automaticaly calculate number for you, this program cannot! all this program does is let you create your own fields, and enter data..when you set a specific field to currency for example, it doest even display the "$" symbol for you..excel can do much much much more than this program, this program is completely useless and serves no purpose whatsoever!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!
