Rename or number a set of files easily, merge folders, and move files based on filename length.

File Utility Suite offers a set of utilities to help you manage files. With it, you can easily rename or number a group of files. Using Windows Explorer to rename files is cumbersome and time consuming if you have a lot of files to rename. File Utility Suite allows you to easily rename many files at once using dialog controls to form a pattern. While manipulating the dialog controls, you can see the names as they are and also see what they will become, before actually making the change. The controls for renaming are set up in a manner that focuses on just the file name or the file extension or the folders. It is here that you can also number files. Additionally, if you have two folders and would like to merge the contents, but don't want to accidentally overwrite a file, File Utility Suite can help. It is important to note that this feature will not delete or overwrite any files. You select a source folder and a destination folder and also one more folder we refer to as the alternate folder. FUS will move the files from the source to the destination folder. But if it finds a file with the same name, it will compare their sizes. If the files are the same size, the source file will not be moved and will remain in the source folder. If the files are a different size, the source file will be moved to the alternate folder. The files left in the source folder are those that exist in the destination folder with the same name and size. The files left in the alternate folder, are files with the same name, but with a different size than files in the destination folder. File Utility Suite also provides a function that allows you to move files based on the length of the filename. You can choose a source and destination folder and a length. Files whose names have more characters than the given length will be moved to the destination and all others will remain in the source folder.
