This free Internet Explorer add-on generates fake e-mail addresses to prevent spam from entering your personal in-box, but not all of its features are in working order.

Email Warden fits snugly on your browser window. You'll have to register with the publisher to log in to the toolbar and access your account. The publisher's Web site shows you how the program works, but it doesn't offer much in terms of help. There's a shortcut button on the toolbar for rating Web pages, but that feature and the Web page are still under construction. For each Web site that we visited, the program generated an e-mail alias. Each assigned e-mail address showed up under My Accounts.

Similar programs allow you to check for e-mail messages through the programs Web site but this is not the case with Email Warden. E-mail messages are forwarded to your personal in-box, which may be a turn off for some users looking to avoid such messages altogether. With some features still in the works, this app seems to be more of a beta version and not really ready for prime time. You'll easily find more well-rounded e-mail alias programs on the market.
