It does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Pros
The DVD Identifier correctly identifies the DVD manufacturers. This is key information to help determine why so many of your DVDs are defective. If your disks were made by an inferior factory, return them while you still can.
Cons
No problems encountered so far.
Summary
I bought a terrible batch of Memorex DVDs and the DVD Identifier revealed that they came from one of the worst factories. My older Memorex DVDs worked fine, and it turns out that they had come from a better factory. I returned the bad batch of 50 Memorex DVDs and replaced them with high-reputation Sony DVDs. The Sony disks work great and DVD Identifier confirmed that they are made by Sony.
Works quickly and without isses-does the job.

this program not only tells you aout the disk you want to evaluate but also gives you information about your disk drives. It is not complicated to use and is very quick.

'DVD Identifier' retrieves and interprets the pre-recorded information that is present on all DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW and DVD-RAM media. This information contains a variety of parameters such as disc manufacturing information and supported write speeds. Even though this information is usually printed on the packaging, the brand name may differ from the actual manufacturer or there may even be no label at all. 'DVD Identifier' offers a reliable method to identify the disc, regardless of the label information. Simply put, 'DVD Identifier' allows you to find out who really manufactured the media you are using. Version 5.2 adds detection of 6x bd-r discs and includes updated manufacturer database.
