  Pros

  Searches and finds much faster than manually searching through a library or hard disk. It will let you start examining the results as it finds them, so if you have a lot of files to search through, you don't have to wait until it finishes going through all of them. Displays full path of each file pair so you can find and examine them yourself if you want.

  Cons

  There is an option to use ID3 tags instead of filenames as search criteria, but it didn't work. It either couldn't find the ID3 data or didn't use it and continued to just give results based on filename alone. This meant that two songs with the same title (and thus the same filename) but by different artists and thus stored in two different folders would still be detected as duplicates. This greatly reduces its usefulness, as this was the very feature that I was looking for.

  Summary

  I'd give it five stars if the ID3 tag feature worked. It's still quite useful, but without that feature it gives a lot of false positives.

  Pros

  I just needed this to get rid of the duplicate music files in Windows media player. It was easy to use and worked.

  None that I noticed.

  It was free, it worked, and it's nice to know I have it if I need it again.

  Really quick and does what it says.

  Doesn't have an option to move the duplicates to another location instead of deleting them.

  For free it is a great app for a small batch of files. It gets clunky if you need to sort through large batches of files

  iTunes is the bane of my existence and I am just tech-savvy enough to be dangerous to myself and others - not enough so to keep out of trouble. In order to un-do the multiple music files created when moving/reorganizing my music library, I needed something thorough and efficient at deleting over 1000 duplicate song files. After some trial and error with the search parameters, I found the settings that worked best for my needs and my music files are free of duplicates once more. Great tool for the price, for certain. Will install on other laptops in my home, and recommend to friends.

  It's not all that, would never reccomend it ever...maybe to an enemy.

  It found most duplicates but after deleting I had to recover some originals that were deleted.

  It seemed to have some glitches in deleting.

  Pros

  I had so many MP3s and AACs with the same song on my MP3 player, it drove me nuts. Download, install on WIN7/x64, run by identifying my player driver and it's SD Card as hard drives - zip, bing, all cleaned up.

  Cons

  Had to de-select some duplicates manually, since they were not really duplicates, but it was a small matter to do that.

  Summary

  Free, and it works. If you can find something better, then you better let me know too.

  fast and pretty correct once you enter the right paprameter

  during initial startup it said that it couldnt find mp12...while the path was correct
