• Last Version x64 for Win7 is useless-it keeps crashing

  Pros

  None if it is the 2015 x64 version. Win8 x32 works fine.

  Cons

  The x64 version is useless due to constant crashing. Program developers were contacted (email). But, so far, they did not care to respond.

  Summary

  I wonder how Dassault Systemes are going to do business if they don't listen or respond to their customers, at least to say that they are aware of the problems and are in the process of fixing them!

• I get Spam Mail All Day

  It works well for CAD drawings

  Cons

  I can't tell you how many spam emails I get now for signing up to use this product. Somewhere in the range of 5-10 a DAY!!! It's not worth it. I keep unsubscribing from stupid emails with no avail, psychic readings, success starts here, Anti-aging creams, the list is never ending.

  in draftsight v1r3.2: if your drawing have solid hatch in the position of curve lines appear unwanted points inside or outside of curve lines i hope that problem will resolved on next version of "draftsight".

  For our small company Autocad LT was a must so I bought three licenses (we are three in our small company) beginning with Autocad 2000, then 2004, than upgrade to 2007, then again upgrade to 2008. We stopped with upgrades at LT 2008 because we felt that more than 2008 we did not need for our work. Since then BSA is sending us every few months letters with stories about frightening consequences if we dare to use illegal versions of CAD software - asking even for number and date of purchase of LT licenses and the name of the dealer from who, we bought - so many times that I decided to quit Autocad entirely even if we have licenses and instead switch to Draftsight. No problems at all replacing LT2008 with Draftsight, all things good so far.

  Powerful CAD program Default settings are almost perfect Well executed menu system and interface FREE! No compromises Did I mention it is free?

  I can find nothing wrong with the program.

  Summary

  Even if this product wasn't free, I would still consider it an excellent CAD program. Kudos to Dassault.

  The interface is easy to use, especially if you know AutoCad

  Crashed every time after about 1 minute of use, saying my display driver crashed and recovered. I know my laptop is not great, but I have used it for many other applications that use graphics and it has never behaved so badly before.

  Summary

  Wasn't worth the effort to install and then uninstall.

  Pros

  Has most of what you need including referencing.

  Cons

  The program worked just fine at first and then after a few hours it just stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but to no avail. The program simply will not work anymore. I'm using Windows XP.

  Summary

  I have used AutoCAD and Microstation extensively and for a free program I would give this 3 stars. I can't explain why it won't work, but since it doesn't work on my machine I give it 1 star.

• Spectacular, every bit as good as Auto Cad 04 LT

  Pros

  Very easy to use. Commands mimic that of AutoCad as does the tools and layouts. Perfect for opening .DWG files. For a free product, it is very hard to fault. Perfect for the casual Drafts-person or casual user. Lightweight and does everything you would CAD to do. Don't expect Heavy-weight pro 3D style drawing and you will not be disappointed.

  Cons

  Seriously, none. provided you are not expecting AutoCad 2012 style 3D rendering or graphics though if you know what you are doing, can handle 2D and 3D XY and Z co-ord imput.

  Not one for writing reviews thou I always read them, but this deserves a big SHOUT. I would liken it to AC 2004 LT. Don't be put off by the year date or indeed be fooled in thinking AC2010/11 or indeed 12 is light years ahead in the drafting stakes, or so the hefty price-tag wold suggest. I am a regular CAD user and AC2004 LT was my favorite. Would be nice to have a few of the AC2010 auto angle prompt but I cant complain as it is Free. I agree 100% agree with review poster Maxey49. If you are expecting a MAGIC CAD that will draw everything that is in your head by just looking at it , you will be disappointed. You need to know what you are doing. suggest that you en role on a CAD basics course and this product will reward you by producing perfectly scaled drawings. I have imported a few .DWG files and have been uploaded perfectly including line weights, block ref's and my own drawing page temps. A note to the producer/owners. "Well done and Thank you. Please keep up the good work - 100% and 5*****'s " my download choice of the year. p.s Thanks CNET as well. K

  V1R1.4 won't allow use of the Tool Matrix, it keeps wiping it clean; I had to downgrade back to V1R1.3.

  Summary

  An excellent program for the occasional user/viewer of CAD drawings.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Mar 10, 2012<p/>I am a new CAD user and found this online as a viewer for SolidWorks drawings sent to me by a client. I can't attest to the *.pdf printing issues, as I use PDFCreator as a printer/creator (with no issues). With a little guidance from experienced drafters and various online tutorials, I was able to pick this up pretty quick. I mainly import block drawings done by others, and then manipulate them to fit my projects, but my professional drafter friends tell me it appears to be just a powerful as AutoCAD. I've been using it (registered) since 8/'11 and the only emails I get from Dassault is customer testimonials, sales pitches, and program updates - no "buy-or-die".
