Despite its demo limitation, this handy application effectively finds duplicate, space-hogging files in your hard disk. DoubleKiller Pro's tabbed interface looks rather boring and confusing because of the number of buttons and options. The program lets you select the folder you want to scan, and specify which type of duplicate files to exclude or include. In our tests, the speedy application scanned our entire 20GB hard drive in only a few minutes. DoubleKiller Pro generates a color-coded list of duplicate files, including information such as filename, path, and date of creation. Right-clicking an item allows you to run the file, open its mother directory, and copy and export the entries. However, deleting duplicates is restricted in the demo. Still, DoubleKiller Pro proves to be effective and we recommend it for users who have bloated hard drives.

Pros
Finds duplicates quickly by several selectable methods
Completely Delete or send to Recycle Bin
Select those to delete by path or folder
Saves me hours per day.
Every day it does in a few minutes what would take me about 1 year.
Cons
When deleting by folder, the folder path box is far too short.
Summary
I have used it for about 3 years. Use it 6 days a week to check about 200 new incoming photos per day, and check through about 500000 existing photos for duplicates. The originals are identified as Library so are not checked against each other, unless you want to. The fresh ones are checked against each other and against the library. It checks the photo, not just the name as do some other programs. Not limited to photos, but that is what I use it for.
it does what it claims to, but becareful!

Pros
The directions are very up front. However, there should be a caution flag on might disable programns. In the hands of the unknowing, this program could be a chainsaw.
Cons
it could use a guide to what tasks different files do. With a blanket keeping you from disableing your PC / Note book. Plus a built in restore point step. Just in case.
Summary
A very useful tool in the right hands. Go slow, and do your own restore point first. save the doubles till you are sure all runs right. TY Will
Search for duplicate files on your hard disk.DoubleKiller Pro finds duplicate or similar files by comparing any combination of name, size, date and content; optionally just a certain part or with a given tolerance. Files can be filtered by masks like *.dll, attributes or file size. When the scan is finished a list containing all duplicates found is displayed and you can select the files to be deleted, moved to the Recycle Bin or a backup folder or replaced by shortcuts. Automatic selection allows to mark the oldest or biggest files of each set for removal. The complete process of choosing directories, scanning for duplicates and removing files can be automated via command line switches. The user interface is multilingual and can be translated to your language using freely downloadable language files. An optional help file provides first-step information, a complete reference and usage examples.
