Docsvault Professional for Windows

• Doesn't play well with Windows 7 UAC

  melmitts707--2008November 15, 2010

  Pros

Good way of cataloging your documents

  Cons

Did not work on Windows 7 with the UAC enabled.

  Summary

I purchased the program but could not get it to work with the Windows 7 UAC. Customer Supports only solution, give them remote access to my computer so they could make it work. Sorry, I don't open my computer system to anyone to start making unexplained changes. There are other programs that work properly when installed.

• Does not work correctly with my Windows 7 Professional

  melmitts707--2008August 20, 2010

  Pros

It has a nice interface and nice features.

  Cons

Can not run with UAC enabled. Can not install OCA addin.

  Summary

I purchased the software. It appeared to install correctly on Windows 7 Professional. However, it did not run correctly and the OCR addin (purchased separately) would not install. I contacted tech support and their final answer was to give them remote access to my computer so they could make their software work. My concern is by remotely changing my computer to make their software work, how many of my other working programs are going to be "broken". I will search for a better alternative.

• It has so many features, it's easy to use, and best of all it's cheap

  pate0086May 16, 2006

  Pros

It's the easiest doc mgmt software that I have tried. It has all of the standard document management features and has some unique ones that I can't believe have not been implemented in other programs. It has been so easy to install and integrate as well. Once you've tried this program, you'll wonder how you've lived without it. It's fantastic!

  Cons

  Not a single thing.
