Access partitions formatted in non-Windows file systems, such as Ext2 or Ext3.
There are a number of evident merits of the program, which you should know. First of all, DiskInternals Linux Reader is absolutely free. Secondly, the program provides for read-only access and does not allow you to make records in Ext2/Ext3 file system partitions. This guarantees that the interference in an alterative file system will not affect the work of Linux later. Apart from this, it is necessary to note, that it gives you an opportunity to use common Windows Explorer for extracting data. A preview option for pictures is one more pleasant point, which is worth mentioning.
VMFS Recovery does not recover deleted snapshots in the way as advertised.
Very limited documentation
Support is confrontational when asked for assistance
Summary
I had a very bad experience with Diskinternals. More specifically, with the VMFS Recovery software. I was led to believe that this product could recover deleted snapshots, however, it was unable to recover the snapshots and I had to use competitor software to perform the recovery.
Rstudio was able to recover the snapshots with ease and they were fully functional afterwards where the Diskinternals product could not fully recover the snapshots.
When I presented the information to the Diskinternals support team, they were very confrontational and refused to assist with this case in a professional manner.
Suffice it to say, I will never buy another product from this company again and I will share my experience with any and all IT Consultants I come in contact with.
Non-working software!

Pros
Free download.
Cons
Everything about this software didn't work right. First, I had to download it 3 times to get a decent copy that would actually install correctly. It locked up several times on the first install, then started repeating the issue on the second install.
After that, it would not connect to a Linux file system drive automatically. So I tried generating an index, which took HOURS to do. After generating the index, it wouldn't (or couldn't) display the information! I tried several times on 2 different drives. Exasperated after fighting this software for about 2 weeks!
Summary
Just junk. Giving it 1/2 star is being generous.
Came to the rescue, made the IT guys look stupid

Allowed me to easily extract all data from a broken network drive.
You can see all data on the drive just like you would in Windows.
Cons
None for me
Summary
Our 2Tb WD MyBook Live network drive just stopped working one day. It could not be accessed by any system. After being told by WD it would need to be replaced, we yank the HDD out of the enclosure and had our techiest friend at my partner's work see if he could access the drive. Like, this guy has built computer clusters. He said nothing could be done.
I then took it to the IT manager at my work. He tried various things for several days using a linux system, and said his only hope would be to copy and image of the whole disk onto another, or it might wreck it even further. This kept crashing, and in the end he gave up.
I then took it home, found this simple freeware, downloaded it and bingo, I could see everything on the drive and copy it as simply as you would from any USB stick. I can't believe I was able to salvage my 2Tb worth of data.
I am not at all a computer person, all I did was take the SATA cable off the back of my DVD drive and plug it into the broken HDD, and download this program. So happy!
I can't promise it will work on everything but for a bricked MyBook Live it was a godsend.
Far exceeds expectations
