Though it requires Microsoft Access to work, Count 3 lets you easily calculate daily caloric intake. The clean interface displays the date and meal with total calories and a breakdown of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Search the 14,000-plus food database to create meals or copy foods from a previous meal. One drawback is that once an item is added, you can only change the quantity and not the unit. You can add items to the database, which includes foods from a number of well-known restaurants. You can view and print a number of reports on your diet breakdown, including a lipids report detailing mono, poly, saturated, and fat calories. There's also a food analysis report based on the recommended daily allowance. The seven-session trial isn't very generous, but Count 3 does make it easy for anyone to plan healthier meals and make better food choices.
