This handy application monitors selected files or folders to create individual backup copies every time you save changes, but it can't back up files using FTP. Changes Saver docks itself in your system tray and offers a very intuitive, clean interface. You easily browse for files and folders to be monitored. With a couple of clicks, you can monitor entire folders or use templates to choose select file types. Changes Saver creates multiple versions of monitored files every time you save. You define a certain number of copies to be stored to conserve disk space and specify the location to save file versions. Changes Saver doesn't support using FTP to save backups to a Web-based folder, which eliminates using the utility to automatically update Web sites by changing local files. The demo version allows you to store only the three most recent versions of each file. We really liked the simplicity and immediacy of the toolbar pop-up notification each time a new file version is saved. A more traditional spreadsheet interface lists the time, date, and version number for every backup file. Despite its minor limitations, Changes Saver is a nice tool for both home and professional users who want to easily keep backup versions of their files.
