C.A.R.S. for Windows

This program includes several modules to help you fine-tune your racecar or motorbike, but it suffers from an unfriendly design and lack of user guidance. Traffic C.A.R.S.'s no-frills interface offers five applications under its file-header menu, allowing you to check Cubic Capacity & Compression, Exhaust Systems, Forced Induction, Transmission, and Tyres. You'll also find BHP and Elapsed Time calculators.

Even at its smallest size, the screen is mostly blank space, and the applications and calculators open in smaller windows within the program that can't be resized. Each application displays the same tools to add and modify information, but tool tips are the only help you'll get in understanding the program. Traffic C.A.R.S. doesn't offer any reporting or printing options, so the hefty 25MB download size is a bit surprising. We are also disappointed that the demo version automatically shuts down after only two minutes. There's little to recommend about this underperforming software, especially with its high price tag, and racing aficionados should look elsewhere for a way to fine-tune their machines.
