  Allows a remarkable amount of finessing to filenames: inserting/deleting chars more or less anywhere on all or selected files. Added to right-click menu in Windows it is a quick and easy-to-use program.

  Looks daunting on first usage.

  This is a really handy file rename *utility* that deserves its name. Highly recommended.

  Pros

  This program is very fast and can handle any rename scenario I can dream up. It allows case sensitivity or not on names and file extensions. Allows you to rename, re-tag... use exif properties for rename and much much more. I downloaded it to batch change extension case from .JPG and .jpeg and .JPEG to .jpg ... quick as can be it, handled it. It can filter and is useful for homogenizing for html purposes too. I read the CNET review for this program (in the non-64bit version) and they mention the interface being difficult, but I found it to be quite logical. All of the options are pretty much there on the main screen for you to use... simple check marks indicate the process you want to run and you don't have to learn what menu drop down the tool you want is under. I recommend flipping through the daily tips when you launch it for the first time.

  One minor irritation, when you delete a file it gets deleted but stays in the file list until you press F5. still worth 5 stars though.
