  Pros

  I had long file names with embedded spaces that I needed to replace with underscores in order to make them accessible in older Windows systems, which don't like blanks in file names. This program enabled me to do such intuitively, quickly, and easily.

  Cons

  As of 3/13/2018, the download link is invalid. Go to the author's web page to download the file: https://sourceforge.net/projects/bulkfilerename/files/latest/download . The installation took a surprisingly long time on my Win 10 computer, and it did not create a desktop nor Start menu shortcut (i.e., I had to go through the "program 86" directory to find it), and the shortcut icon was "vanilla," so I had to change it, manually, via the shortcut's 'properties', and, the first time I ran it, it took a long time, but subsequent runs were fast. That may seem like a lot of "cons," but, they were "acceptable," though I did take a half-star off due to these "problems."

  Summary

  If you want simple name changes without complex and arcane and confusing user interfaces, then this is the program for you!
