• Best Shutdown Program I've Ever Used

  Pros

  It allows you to even hibernate your laptop! Hibernating puts your laptop to sleep and turns your laptop off. But it actually keeps your all your open data files in that state even after it's turned off! When you press the power button to turn it back on, it will resume your laptop exactly the way you left it, with all your programs that were open, open! And it also does general shutdowns/restarts/logoffs much faster than using the windows button to shutdown And when you open the program, by double-clicking on the green/yellow button on the taskbar at the bottom right corner of your screen, it tells you how much money you've saved using the program

  Cons

  The only part you have to customize about Auto Shutdown Manager is it's auto sleep time built into the latest version(s) Open the program by clicking on the green/orange taskbar icon on the bottom right corner of your screen, click continue, and on the idle timer option, click the pause button so it doesn't make your computer/laptop automatically go to sleep after 25 minutes

  This program's great at properly shutting down and restarting your computer. It even tells you how much money you save if you choose to open the program How to use Auto Shutdown Manager is to right click it, hover your mouse over the "Go To Sleep Now" button, and choose either log off, shutdown, restart, sleep, or hibernate

  Pros

  (I had no room for the e in Saved so I just typed out how Saved is pronounced) It's on the 3rd page of the images, that really shows it goes beyond just speeding up your shutdown time, it even goes to tell how how much you conserve

  Auto Shutdown Manager is a simple to use power management tool, Windows Service based, centrally managed and network enabled for enterprises, schools, universities and private users which helps to save money and increases security. It provides a timer shutdown, which can depend on many factors such as CPU or network load, week day and time, idle analysis, backup processes and very much more. The shutdown can be performed on demand, by time, for patch management or by policies. Auto Shutdown Manager was build with a networking aware logic. This means that on one hand client computers can wake their server on demand and keep them running as long as required - and on the other hand the servers know about their clients and if they are connected - and so they don?t go into a power save mode until the last client disconnects. Auto Shutdown Manager operates even if no users are logged - on to the system in a so called full background - or service mode.   A lot of features, but confusing to setup

  Cons

  Between the tray app and the service it installed it consumed 60 MB of memory on my system.

  I ended up switching to something simpler called SetPower that I read about on PC World.
