If you prefer something a little fancier than a word processor file for journaling, there are plenty of options to choose from. All My Journals Free is one of the better such programs we've tried. It has a simple, classy interface with plenty of useful features and none of the gimmicks that journal programs seem so fond of including.

All My Journals Free looks very much like a word processor. There are menus across the top that give users access to text formatting options, tools, a search feature, and so on, and a few buttons down the left side let users quickly access the reader feature, which opens entries in a new window, as well as tools for exporting and backups.

The bulk of All My Journals Free's interface is the space where users type their journal entries. The date is displayed at the top of the screen, and arrow buttons let users quickly navigate backward and forward through entries. The program displays the name of each month across the top of the screen, letting users quickly jump from month to month; a drop-down menu gives easy access to different years. Users can set a password to limit access, an important feature for any journal. The program opens with an entry on the current day that explains the basic features, and an online Help file adds more detail, but we had no trouble figuring out All My Journals Free on our own. Overall, we found All My Journals Free to be among the most attractive and functional journal programs we've found, and we highly recommend it.

Just what I was looking for.

Pros
No fancy add-on stuff to get in the way of pure journaling. You can also password your journal to keep it private.
Cons
Can't think of any so far.
Summary
I actually just bought the full program so I could make additional journals. I have some health problems and I want to make a Journal specifically for logging how I feel along with meds I take on a daily basis. I think this would be extremely helpful on your next visit to the doctor's office. How often can you actually remember how you felt on a particular day after taking your meds and relay this info accurately to your doctor. This is a great tool to review before seeing the doc and you can even print it out if necessary to take along.

Simple to use, simple to install, easy access with an icon on the desktop. Doesn't eat up memory. Starts quickly. Automatically saves for you. Easy access to any of your separate journals with the paid version. Do yourself a favor and GET THIS ONE FIRST. I wish I had!

This software does EXACTLY what it promises to do. I tried several other journaling software products and this is by FAR the absolute best. I have to journal medical info and didn't want to mix it in with my regular journal. I bought the paid version ($29) which is CHEAP compared to what you get. Took about 5 seconds to get the license key. I can export the medical journal and send to my doctor, which is what I needed. I LOVE THIS SOFTWARE!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Mar 27, 2013<p/>It's MUCH better than the word processor I was trying to use because I couldn't find a "good" software program until I found this one. You can customize text, format, export, backup. What else could anyone want?

Pros
I like the fact that it automatically saves everything on close down. It's good for writing a day to day journal. It's great that it can be password protected so no one can read my inner most thoughts.

I like that you can have a password so I know it is private. It is easy to use,no fancy gimmicks but does what it says and am very happy with it.
