VSCO Cam offers a sleek, sparse design that will appeal to design-minded shutterbugs and pro photographers.
Sync photos across devices: You'll have to create an account first, but doing so allows you to share your photos across devices. Creating an account also lets you share and view photos with a larger community of users.
Find inspiration: VSCO Cam gives you access to the VSCO community, where you can look through other members' photos that were captured using the app. We were blown away by all the stunning images that prove the app's potential.
Hands-on controls: VSCO Cam's hands-on controls, including manual focus, shutter speed, white balance, and exposure controls, give you control over your images.
Cool effects: After snapping our picture, we were presented with several photo effects that gave our picture a vintage quality to various degrees. For example, the T1 effect gave our photo the look of a Polaroid.
Too minimalist: While we can certainly appreciate minimalist, modern design, there is such a thing as too much. None of the app's effects tools where labeled, so while some were recognizable, we spent a lot of time tapping away just to find out each tool's job.
Confusing navigation: Navigation was also confusing, and we found ourselves stumbling upon features by accident, rather than on purpose.
It's obvious from VSCO's community of users that the app has a lot of potential to create beautiful shots. While we appreciate the minimalist design, we wish the developers had spent more time making the interface more intuitive. However, designers and photographers will appreciate the hands-on controls the app provides.
