• Stopped Working Completely

  Worked serviceably when it recognized my phone.

  Cons

  Never recognizes my phone anymore.

  Summary

  Worked just fine the first several times using it with my HTC EVO 4G LTE. After a couple of months, it stopped recognizing my phone and became essentially a useless waste of space on my computer. It's a lot harder to transfer files to and from my phone as a result.

• HTC sync manager works until and upgraded then stop

  Initially, looks like a good android alternative to itunes.

  Cons

  HTC posted upgrades to phone and sync manager and then everything stopped. As search of the internet will provide you with hundreds of similar cases, all but a very few without a solution. Un-install and re-install sync manager? No help. Hey, why not factory reset your phone? Doesn't help either. You can see that several frustrated people considering discarding their phones it so bad. HTC support are no help, don't bother replying to messages left to them and that can only be a marketing nightmare for them. I'm the the process of looking for an alternative to HTC Sync Manager, know one?

  If it looks too good to be true, then it is. While you may not be happy with Apple, iTunes and iPhones, they do just work.

• Worst thing since iTunes

  None. It works when it feels like it

  Sometimes doesn't see my phone at all. Every time, it says it's downloading content when there is nothing to download and the 'Cancel' button has no effect. Duplicates diary entries randomly and ignores others. A real piece of doggy dos. I used to be able to use a great German program but HTC moved at the speed of light to make sure this didn't work. Too bad they never fixed this pile of £$%^&*

  Crap functionality Duplicates Contacts, Events on calendar, Playlists

  Summary

  Have been using this software since it appeared in the market. Using with HTC One and One X. It duplicates Contacts all the time, and lately stopped creating copies in Outlook for New contacts crated in the phone. Tired of deleting. Calendar - Birthday events duplicates up to 4 times, very annoying. Playlists with music - duplicated as well. Expected new versions to address some of these issues, but no, only gets worst.

  It does occasionally create duplicates with contacts, but only occasionally.

  Summary

  I do wish it would work with Android devices other than HTC phones. Of course, since other manufacturers don't offer similar software, it does work to keep me an HTC customer.

  None that I can think of.

  The functionality is poor and can't sync notes or files. But the issues with functionality almost don't matter as it rarely works. I have used sync software of blackberry, apple, nokia, windows, palm and this is by far the worst.

• Latest versions fail to install driver

  Pros

  None, as I have not been able to get the last 3 versions to install on Windows 7 Pro (64 or 32 bit) or Windows Vista Business. There are known issues with the driver part of the installation process failing.

• Why do they pretend that it syncs?

  It's free. It does copy files form PC to Android.

  Cons

  Makes duplicates, duplicates, and more duplicates in Contacts. Similar though less sever problem calendar. I gather that if you simply overwrite in one direction or the other the problem does not occur, but forget about updating on PC and Android and syncing up. I give up on HTC Synch and Outlook.

  Summary
