Bulk Image Downloader Firefox Extension

Editors' Review

by   / December 20, 2010

Bulk Image Downloader is an application that lets users download multiple images from a Web site all at once. Bulk Image Downloader Firefox Extension is an add-on for Firefox that adds Bulk Image Downloader options to the Firefox context menu. The extension works just fine, but potential users should be aware that it's made to work with the Bulk Image Downloader application; it won't download any images on its own.

The extension installs without issues, though we could only guess at how it worked, because it had no instructions and no options within Firefox's add-on menu. We didn't see any obvious evidence of it after it was installed, but we finally took a guess and right-clicked on page full of images, and the extension revealed itself in the context menu. There are three options: Open current page with BID, Enqueue current page with BID, and Open current page with BID Link Explorer. We had already downloaded and installed Bulk Image Downloader for the purpose of reviewing the extension, and the options in the context menu launched Bulk Image Downloader and handled the images as expected. Is Bulk Image Downloader a good program? That is the topic of another review. But we can say that the Bulk Image Downloader Firefox Extension, though limited in features, is a useful thing to have around if you're already using Bulk Image Downloader.

Bulk Image Downloader Firefox Extension installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this extension to all users.
